Operating instructions

Before starting to use the device, it is essential that the
Operating Instructions and „Important instructions" be
read carefully. The vehicle owner is responsible for ensuring
that the device can be operated in the proper manner.

Taking into operation
Before switching on, be sure to check that the campsite power
supply fusing is sufficient for 700 W (230 V – at least 3 A).
In order to prevent the power cable for the caravan from
overheating (minimum cross-section 3 x 2.5 mm²) the
cable drum must be fully unwound.
The remote handset must always be pointed at the infra-
red (IR) receiver in order to execute the individual switching
commands.
1. Switch the Saphir compact on using button „g" on the re-
mote handset. The previous operating mode that was selected
using the remote control is automatically used.
2. Set the desired operating mode using the button „a".
FAN MODE: Ventilation only without cooling.
Select the required fan speed FAN LOW or FAN HIGH
using the „+" and „–" buttons.
COOL MODE: Cooling with 3 levels.
The room temperature can be individually ad-
justed. The green indicator lamp on the receiver
indicates that the compressor is running. Select
the required cooling setting COOL LOW, COOL or
COOL HIGH using the „+" and „–" buttons.
The COOL LOW setting acts as a sleep function. The internal
and external fans operate at a slower speed in this mode
in order to minimise the amount of noise that is generated.
3. Select the required room temperature using the „c", „+"
and „–" buttons.

When the room temperature that was selected using the re-
mote handset is reached in cooling mode, the compressor
switches off and the green indicator lamp in the receiver goes
off. The circulation fan continues to run in order to provide ven-
tilation. If the room temperature setting is exceeded the device
automatically reverts to cooling mode.
Switching off
To switch off, press the button „g" on the remote control once
again. To confirm the signal the green monitoring light will go
out.
If the air conditioning unit is switched on again within ap-
proximately 3 minutes, the green indicator lamp flashes.
The recirculated air fan runs, and the compressor is activated
after a maximum of 3 minutes.
Timer off
The air conditioning unit deactivation time can be set up to 15
hours in advance using the integrated timer, starting from the
current time.
To carry out programming, first switch the device to remote
control mode with the switch „g".
Then set the operating mode and the room temperature using
buttons „a", „c", „+", and „-".
Then select the required deactivation time (1 – 15 hours) using
the „e" button (TIMER).
The programming is not active unless the air condi-
tioning unit is switched on. The remote handset can be
deactivated by covering the infrared transmitter on the front
of the remote handset. This prevents unintentional air con-
ditioning unit deactivation and accidental deactivation time
reprogramming.
IR receiver and manual on/off
There is an additional pushbutton on the receiver (m), with
which the unit can also be switched on and off without the
remote control (e.g. with a ballpoint pen).
