4.1 Intended use
The lifting column should only be used for adjusting table heights and other adjustment tasks of
a comparable kind.
The lifting column should not be used in areas where there is a risk of explosion or where there is
a direct contact with foodstuffs, pharmaceutical or cosmetic products.
Catalogue information, the contents of these assembly instructions and / or conditions deter-
mined in the order are to be taken into account.
The values given in these assembly instructions are maximum values and must not be exceeded.
4.2 Unauthorised utilisation
"Improper use" means that the information given in section Intended use is not being observed.
In the event of improper use, incorrect handling or if this lifting column is used, installed or hand-
led by untrained personnel, this lifting column may pose risks for personnel.
Moving personnel with this lifting column is an example of improper use and is prohibited.
In event of improper use, Phoenix Mecano Komponenten AG is no longer liable and its general
operating licence will expire.
4.2.1 Reasonably foreseeable misuse

Exceeding the forces acting laterally.
•
Use when the lifting column is not sufficiently fixed.
•
Overloading the appliance by exceeding the weight or duty cycle
•
Use in areas outside the specified IP protection class.
•
Use of the appliance in an environment with high air humidity > dew point
•
Use of the appliance in rooms with explosive atmospheres as defined in the ATEX directive
•
Use outdoors
•
Use on an insufficiently firm base
•
Use with damaged feed lines or housing
•
Moving up to the stop.
4.3 Who is authorised to use, install and operate this lifting column
Individuals who have read and understood the assembly instructions completely can use, install
and operate this lifting column. The responsibilities for handling this lifting column must be clear-
ly determined and observed.
