•
It must be possible to lay and install the system components in such a way that no cables
or connection cables need to be shortened.
•
If the LED system is to be used without a Bluetooth receiver, it must be possible to switch
the power socket on and off.
•
The power supply and Bluetooth receiver may only be installed in such a way that they
(e.g. at the end of use) can be removed without any difficulty (reversible installation).
Special features regarding installation in humid rooms
If the LED system is to be installed in the bathroom or in areas with intermittent humid envi-
ronmental conditions, the following requirements must also be met:
•
Any penetration of moisture into components of the LED system must be permanently
prevented.
•
The environment must make intermittent drying possible.
4.2 Planning for installation
Prior to installation, it is necessary to determine how many LED tubes are to be installed,
where the cables are to be laid, and which system components are to be fitted at which
positions.
The following questions must be answered with "yes" to ensure safe and reliable operation:
•
Does the intended power supply cover the power requirements of the LED tubes?
•
Can all LED modules be reached with distributors and cables?
•
Can cavity wall sockets with sealing collars be installed where moisture can occur and
where a connection cable is to be connected?
Planning to cut the LED modules to length »
With regard to LED modules, optimum illumination over the entire module length is guaran-
teed in delivery state and protection class IP 67 is also achieved. The following points must
be noted if the LED modules are to be shortened:
•
The shortened mounting profile must of the same length as the shortened LED tube.
•
When installed, there needs to be a cable opening in the mounting profile through which
the connection cable can be fed into the mounting profile.
•
A separation mark is attached to W-LED tubes every 25 mm.
•
A separation mark is attached to RBG+W-LED tubes every 62.5 mm.
•
Separation marks always indicate the position at which 45° separation cuts must be
made if LED tubes are to remain illuminated over their full length.
•
If LED tubes are cut outside the separation marks, the area up to the next separation
mark remains continuously unlit.
If complete illumination of the LED tubes is desired, the position of the separation marks must
be taken into account when planning the LED modules. In such cases, the separation marks
specify the optimum length of the shortened LED modules.
