CI230 DIAGNOSTICS

Quick Status Check with LEDs
Flame Signal Strength
• Flame LED ON = strong flame current
• Flame LED Flashing = low flame current
• Flame LED OFF = no flame signal detected
Low or no flame signal
• Make sure all connections are clean and free of
corrosion or build up.
• Check the continuity of the ground wire and the
sense wire.
• The control, electrode, and the flame sensor must
have a common ground with the burner for proper
operation.
• Check the ceramic on the flame rod for and chips or
cracks, replace if needed.
Reset from Lockout-No Retry
• Push and release the red Status/Reset button while
the control is powered.

CI500 / CI750 DIAGNOSTICS
The burner controller features diagnostics which iden-
tify the cause of malfunction in the heater. To use the
feature, wait at least 10 seconds after the heater stops
operating. Press and hold the reset button for more
than 3 seconds. A yellow light pulse will indicate to you
the operation is completed. Release the button once
the yellow light pulses. The control box will generate
a sequence of pulses (1 second apart) to identify the
malfunction that occurred. See page 33 for diagnostic
pattern.
The controller will only provide the diagnostics when
the selector switch is set to HEAT
DO NOT leave the heater in diagnostic mode once
diagnosis has been determined. The main motor will
restart after 90 seconds and will remain ON until power
is removed.
