REFUELLING
Before setting out on a journey, make
sure you have enough fuel. For the fuel
cap opening procedure, see the relevant
paragraph (FUEL TANK)
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Before refuelling, switch off the engine
and make sure no one is sitting on the
vehicle.
• Never refuel while smoking or in prox-
imity to sparks, naked flames or other
sources of ignition, such as pilot lights
on boilers or tumble dryers.
• Never overfill the fuel tank.
• When refuelling, make sure that
the pump nozzle is inserted into the
opening in the fuel tank. Stop filling
when the fuel reaches the bottom of
the filling opening. Considering that
fuel expands when it heats, the heat
from the engine or from the sun could
cause it to overflow from the tank.
Immediately dry up any fuel spillage
with a rag.
• Use a clean, dry and soft cloth to wipe
away any spilled fuel, as it could dam-
age painted or plastic parts.
ACCELERATOR DIAL BACKLASH
CONTROL
Make sure that the accelerator dial has a
backlash of 3-5 mm.
Also check to ensure that the closure
is total and automatic in every steering
position.
