- The temperature is displayed in Fahrenheit. Change the tempera-
ture setting to Celsius by pressing the MODE button to access F1.
The body temperature shown on the display is lower than
32 ºC (89.6 ºF).
- The appliance is in Surface mode. The temperature shown on
the display indicates the temperature radiated by the surface of
the skin. Switch to Body mode if necessary.
The message 'Hi' appears on the display.
- The temperature analysis lies outside the selected measurement
range, i.e. above 42.5 ºC (108 ºF) in Body mode or above 60 ºC
(140 ºF) in Surface mode.
The message 'Lo' appears on the display.
- The temperature analysis lies outside the selected measure-
ment range, i.e. below 32.0 ºC (90 ºF) in Body mode or below 0 ºC
(32 ºF) in Surface mode.
- The measurement cannot be performed due to hair or beads of
sweat on the skin. Make sure that no hair hanging down or beads
of sweat are preventing correct measurement
- An air current is preventing measurement. Make sure that no
draughts can impair the sensitive infrared measurement.
- The time interval between two measurements is too small. Make
sure that there is a pause of at least 15 seconds between two
measurements – the recommended pause between two mea-
surements is one minute.
- The measurement distance is too large. Please ensure that you
maintain the recommended measuring distance of between 5
and 15 cm (2.5 and 5.9 inches).
