Description and function

1.1 Indications for use

The Ottobock 4R108 and 4R109 Endoskeletal Alignment Adapters are to be
used solely for fitting lower limb prostheses, especially transtibial applica-
tions. Each socket adapter functions as an adjustable connection between
the socket and distal component section.
1.2 Introduction
The 4R108 and 4R109 Edoskeletal Alignment Adapters offer a broad range
of quick and easy linear, angular, and rotary adjustments for thermoplastic or
laminated prosthetic sockets. The adapters are designed to simplify socket
fabrication and alignment, particularly for initial prostheses and remote fit-
tings. The 4R108 incorporates a 30 mm pylon clamp, while the 4R109 has
a fixed pyramid adapter.
Approved for a patient weight of up to 100 kg/220 lbs.

1.3 Environmental conditions

Allowable environmental conditions:
„ Temperature range for use: -10 °C to +60 °C
„ Allowable relative humidity 0 % to 90 %, non-condensing
Unallowable environmental conditions:
„ Mechanical vibrations or impacts
„ Perspiration, urine, fresh water, salt water, acids
„ Dust, sand, highly hygroscopic particles (e.g. talcum)
