Adjusting dorsiflexion and plantar flexion
Follow the steps described in "Installing the Reaction-module" and "Reac
tion-module – static alignment".
The stops of the Reaction-modules are adjusted according to the fol
lowing adjustment sequence. If a Reaction-module is not needed,
omit the corresponding instructions.
Prerequisite: The orthosis has been applied to the patient.
>
Prerequisite: All Reaction-modules are mounted with the spring
>
dummy.
1) Adjust the stop of Reaction-module 1 (see previous figure, see fig. 36)
2) Adjust the stop of Reaction-module 2 until the orthosis joint no longer
exhibits any anterior-posterior play.
3) When Reaction-modules 1 and 2 have been adjusted, and Reaction-
module 3 is to follow: Loosen the spring bolt on Reaction-module 1.
4) Adjust the stop of Reaction-module 3 (if Reaction-module 1 is present,
then identical to Reaction-module 1).
5) Retighten the previously loosened spring bolt of Reaction-module 1.
6) If Reaction-module 4 is to be adjusted: Loosen the spring bolt on Reac
tion-module 2.
7) Adjust the stop of Reaction-module 4 until the orthosis joint no longer
exhibits any anterior-posterior play (if Reaction-module 2 is present, then
identical to Reaction-module 2).
8) Re-tighten the previously loosened spring bolt of Reaction-module 2.
9) If a threaded hole is unused, close it with a blind cap.
10) If necessary, adjust the settings in the static alignment and repeat the
steps.
