• Always keep the surfaces of the luggage system which face the motorcycle
clean. Sand, dust and other soiling can damage surfaces (especially paintwork)
as the act like sandpaper.
• Special saddlebag holders are available for many popular choppers and
cruisers and some touring bikes. They not only look stylish but also ensure
sufficient clearance between the saddlebags and your rear wheel. They also
offer additional securing points and additional protection against scratches,
especially for paintwork.

Open the saddlebags, place a stiffener in the zipped compartment at the bottom of each bag, and
close the zip.
CAUTION!

Risk of injury!

If the stiffeners are slightly too wide, you can carefully make them a little
narrower using a carpet knife or scissors.
The stiffeners must sit tightly in the guides.
Hold the saddlebags above your motorcycle and determine the installation height using the hook-
and-loop fastener strips, which allow precise adjustment. Adjust the position/height of the saddle-
bags so that there is sufficient clearance (at least 8 cm) from the exhaust pipe on both sides of the
motorbike, including when the saddlebags are fully loaded and the suspension is compressed. It is
imperative that you check this after fitting the saddlebags and before setting off. You may need the
assistance of a second person to fully compress the motorcycle suspension. When positioning the
bags, take care that they do not hang in front of the opening of the exhaust silencer, where they would
be exposed to the hot exhaust gases.
As a general rule, we recommend connecting the hook-and-loop fastener strips on the saddlebags un-
der the pillion seat. However, in exceptional cases you can also select the top of the seat. Then guide
the narrow hook-and-eye fastener strips underneath the seat and the wide ones over the top. Do not
use the edges of a plastic tail trim to secure the saddlebags.
Finally, also use the enclosed narrow lashing straps to secure the saddlebags to the footrest wings,
other rigid vehicle parts and, if necessary, the tail of your motorbike. Eyelets are provided on the
bottom of each saddlebag for this purpose. In the process, make sure that the belts are not fastened
to parts of the motorcycle's suspension, e.g. swing arm, shock absorbers or components which heat
up, e.g the exhaust system.
CAUTION!
Risk of fire and injury!
If any straps are too long, shorten them carefully with a carpet knife or scissors,
and then seal the edges by briefly holding a cigarette lighter to them to prevent
fraying.
You may have to use additional lashing straps to secure the saddlebags and prevent them coming
loose during the ride. After fitting the saddlebags, check that they do not obstruct your turn signals or
tail lights, preventing them from being seen by traffic behind you.
