1 Application
The9X50LinearTransducerforshoulderharnessesandthe9X514-Step
Transducerforshoulderharnessesaretobeusedsolelyinexoprosthetic
fittingsoftheupperextremitiesformyoelectriccontrolofarmprostheses.
1.1 Qualification
Patientsmaybefittedwiththeproductonlybyqualifiedpersonnelauthorised
by O ttobockaftercompletingthecorrespondingtraining.
2 Safety Information
Failure to follow the safety instructions given below can lead
to damage to or malfunction of the product. Follow the safety
instructions and the precautions specified in this accompany-
ing document.
• WhenservicingtheTransducerscheckthepull-cableaswellasthe
housingfordamage.
• Whenmountedintoaprovisionalsocket,theTransducersmayonlybe
wornbyanamputeewithinanorthopedicworkshoporasanin-patient
inarehabilitationfacility.
• TheTransducersmayonlybeloadedinthepulldirection.
• PleasenotethatthecabletraveloftheTransducersislimited.Toprevent
excessivestrainontheTransducer,makesuretheharnessiscorrectlyfit
andaccomodatesthepatient'smovements.
• Wheninstallingtheelectrodecable,makesuretherearenotightangles
orkinks.
• InstructthepatientinthecorrectuseoftheTransducer(seechapter3
"PatientInformation").
