at least 15 m (50 ft) away from your own
position.
Important notice - so your guarantee does not
expire:
• Always keep the air-intake clean.
• Never use a longer line than the blade- re-
tainer allows to use.
• Only use original monofilaments with 1,5 mm
ø and original spools.
• Never press the cutting head on the ground,
when doing this you brake the turned-on
motor.
• Never hit the cutting head on a hard under-
ground, otherwise you will unbalance and
damage the motor shaft.

5. Before operation

Assembly of the protection cover (Fig. 1)
Put the protection cover on the trimmer's housing (A)
with the location tab of the protection cover resting under
the support at the motor housing (B). Then, firmly push
the protection cover on the trimmer's housing until the
fixture locks in place (C).
Attention: After assembly, the protection cover will
permanently remain mounted to the trimmer. The device
must never be operated without protection cover!
Attention: To protect users from cuts through the thread
cutter fixed to the protection cap, a plastic cover is put
on the cutter blade of your lawn trimmer (X) (fig. 11). This
plastic cover has to be removed before operating the
trimmer (fig. 12). Please keep this cover carefully and
use it when the trimmer is moved or stored.
6. Adjusting the inclination angle and
shaft length
(Fig. 3,4,5,6 and 7)
The tube length may be adjusted to suit your height.
(Fig. 3)
To do so, turn the ribbed plastic sleeve clockwise to
loosen the connection. Adjust the tube to the suitable
length and fasten the connection by turning the tapped
sleeve anti-clockwise.
Adjusting the angle of inclination (Fig. 5):
Push down the bolting device (A) to unlock the trimmer
head; the head may now be swivelled into two further
positions in relation to the shaft.
Adjustment for cutting edges (Fig. 5 and 6):
Adjust the angle of inclination as described above. Push
the bolting device (Fig. 5) and adjust as desired (Fig. 6).
Turn the handle (Fig. 4): Turn the plastic sleeve clock-
wise to loosen the connection – the handle may now be
turned by 180°. Fasten the connection again by turning

the tapped sleeve anticlockwise.

7. Connecting the trimmer

The machine can only be used on single-phase AC
current. It is double-insulated in accordance with Class
II VDE 0700 and EEC 20. Before using the trimmer, en-
sure that the mains voltage is the same as the operating
voltage shown on the rating plate.
Wires of extension cord must have the following mini-
mum cross sectional area:

8. Switching on / off

To operate your grass trimmer:

9. Trimming grass and weeds

10. Adjusting nylon line

Check the nylon line regularly if it is damaged or if it still
has the correct length.
When cutting performance deteriorates: Hold the run-
ning trimmer above a patch of grass. Tap the cutting
head on the ground. Note the fresh line will be advanced
only if lines are still at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) long. If the
lines are shorter: Switch off the trimmer, disconnect plug
from power supply. Press in the spool and pull end of
lines firmly outwards). If end of lines are not visible - see
(replacement of spool).
Your trimmer has a thread cutting blade that continu-
ously cuts the thread down to the appropriate length.
Note: Clean the thread cutting blade from grass re-
mainders in order to guarantee an unaffected cutting
performance.
Attention: Danger of injury through the cutting blade!

Connect trimmer's plug to extension cord coupling.
Make a loop in the extension cord, push it through
the opening in the handle and hook over the lug
(strain relief).
After finishing work, unhook loop from lug and pull it
out of the handle.
Make sure you have a secure footing.
Hold the trimmer firmly (with both hands).
Stand upright - hold trimmer in relaxed position.
Do not rest the cutting head on the ground.
Squeeze the switch (X).
The trimmer is switched off when you release the
switch (X).
Sweep trimmer back and forth uniformly to cut small
patches of grass or weeds. The trimmer is not con-
structed and suitable for cutting large areas.
Wherever possible, cut with left-hand side so that
cut-tings, dust and stones are thrown forwards, away
from the user.
Ideal working conditions are achieved if the trimmer
is tilted to the left at an angle approx. of 30°.
