To guarantee the longest working life to the battery, the maximum charging current must not be
applied for over 30 minutes, even if the battery is not fully discharged. The charging voltage must
never exceed 15V.
Charge the battery with a current lower than the maximum charging one, as specified in the table.
If the battery heats up excessively, stop charging until it has cooled before completing the charge.
In any case, the battery must be submitted to charging every six months in order to keep its full
working capacity.
INSTALLATION
Before installing the battery, check its charge level and, if necessary, charge it to the full. In so
doing, make sure that the charging system of your vehicle works properly:
1.
Connect the red cable of the system to the positive pole and the black cable to the negative
one. Then proceed to starting the vehicle.
2.
Connect a digital multimeter to the cables of the motorcycle. The multimeter will indicate the
open-circuit voltage.
3.
Disconnect the red cable from the positive pole of the battery. At this point the multimeter
will indicate the charging voltage of the vehicle that will have to be between 14V and 15V. A
voltage lower than 14V will not properly charge the battery, while a voltage higher than 15V
will overcharge it and consequently damage the battery. The test must be repeated at 2000
and 5000 RPM.
4.
Switch off the engine and remove the key. Connect the multimeter (now used as an amp
meter) between one of the two cables (either positive or negative) and the corresponding pole.
Current absorption should be less than 1mA.
5.
If the vehicle passes the above tests, the lithium battery can be installed without any problem.
Remove the old battery from the vehicle.
