Charging via computer:
2
• Connect the USB charging cable with the USB
port of a computer. The LED on the USB
charger cable lights green indicating that the
charger unit is correctly connected to the com-
puter. If you plug in a car with a discharged
battery, the LED on the USB charging cable
lights up red and shows that the car battery is
being charged. The USB charging cable and
the charging socket on the car are designed to
make incorrect connection impossible.
• It takes about 40 minutes to recharge a dis-
charged battery (but NOT a deep-dis-
charged one). When the battery is fully
charged, the LED display in the USB charg-
ing cable lights up green again.
Note: When supplied, the lipo-battery is
already partially charged so the first
charging cycle may well take less time.
It is essential to follow the connection se-
quence given above! If you have the
charger cable only connected to the car,
and not to a source of electricity, a green
LED display indicates that there is still
power in the battery. The green LED dis-
play does not necessarily indicate the bat-
tery is still adequately charged.
While charging, the power switch must be
in the "OFF" position.
Inserting the batteries
in the controller
3
Open the battery compartment with a screw-
driver and insert the batteries in the remote con-
trol. Please keep in mind the correct polarity.
Different types of batteries or new and used bat-
teries are not to be mixed. After having closed
the compartment you can check all functions of
the remote control with the help of the pow-
er-switch on the front. With the power-switch
turned ON and proper functioning, the top center
LED on the remote control will light up red.
Now you can drive the car
The Carrera RC car and the remote control
are bound as a factory setting.
4
1. Switch the car ON at the ON/OFF
switch. The LED on top of the car will flash
rhythmically.
5
2. Switch on the controller. The LED on
top of the controller will flash rhythmically.
After a few seconds, the LEDs on the car and
on the controller will light continuously, mean-
ing the bind has been made.
Let's practise!
6
Warning! This vehicle reaches speeds
up to 15 km/h (9 mph). Practice on an empty
surface at least 4 metres (13.1') square.
When first starting, be very careful when
operating the gas pedal.
Now it's time to practise! Set up a Carrera RC
vehicle racing track in a large empty area, using
cornerposts, empty cans, or similar objects.
The basic technique to adopt when operating a
Carrera RC is to drive fast on the straight sec-
tions and to slow down in the curves.
• Avoid constant motor operation.
• If the car switches itself off several times
one after another, the battery is dead.
Please recharge the battery.
• Within approx. 30 minutes of inactivity,
the controller and vehicle switch off au-
tomatically. To restart, switch the ON/
OFF switch on the controller & the car to
OFF and then back to ON.
• To switch off after use, follow the steps
in the reverse order.
• Always recharge the battery after use to
prevent its becoming deep discharged.
• Clean the Carrera RC car after use.
