Preparation

Recharging the NiMH Battery
— before each use.
The NiMH battery is supplied uncharged.
Do not charge battery in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Ambient temperature during charging: 50
Check that the mains voltage of the power supply is correct.
Connect the charger to mains power supply. The operating voltage of the charger must correspond
to the mains voltage.
Connect NiMH battery to the charger. The battery socket is located on the back of the charger.
Charging is indicated by the red LED.
On the Dräger X-plore 7300 , the red LED switches off when the NiMH battery is fully charged. In
standby mode, the green LED lights.
On the Dräger X-plore 7500 , the red and green LEDs both light up when the battery is fully
charged. They also both light in standby mode.
Disconnect the NiMH battery from the battery charger and the battery charger from the power
supply.
The charger must always be disconnected from the power supply when it is not being used.
Working Cycle of the Charger
— Approx. 14 hours are required to recharge a completely discharged NiMH battery.
— The charging cycle starts when the NiMH battery is connected to the charger which is connected
to the mains supply. The red LED lights.
— The charger automatically switches to standby operation when the NiMH battery is fully charged.
— The NiMH battery always remains fully charged in standby operation. For this purpose, the charger
constantly outputs short pulses to the NiMH battery until the connection is broken.
— In standby mode, the NiMH battery is neither overcharged nor damaged.
Replacing the NiMH Battery

Removing the NiMH Battery
Hold the blower unit with both hands, the back of the NiMH battery facing towards the body.
Open the catch on the NiMH battery with your thumb. The catch is located in the middle of the
NiMH battery.
Force the NiMH battery out of the blower unit with both thumbs.
