If malfunctions occur
If a repair is not done properly there is a risk of injury or damage!
Incorrect repair or modifications to the cylinder may result in the risk of injury or damage.
When repairing a cylinder, use only spare parts and reconditioning kits listed in the
product catalogue.

Malfunction
The cylinder does not reach
the desired position.

Serious leakage.
Serious end cover impacts.
Poor running characteristics. Oil in the cylinder.
The cylinder does not move,
or moves only when the
working pressure is
increased above normal.

Slight leakage is normal for this type of cylinder.

WARNING
Possible cause
Pressure low or absent.
The seal is damaged. Leakage
due to solid matter in the
compressed air.
Faulty shock absorber
(GPC-E, GPC-ST)
Varying pressure.
Lack of lubrication, e.g. due to
extreme use.
Lever too long.
Front plate or cylinder is
deformed by attached load.
Remedy
Check the connected pressure and
that the connections are tight.
Check the seals. Replace if necessary.
Available as a reconditioning kit.
Replace the shock absorber.
Check the connected pressure and
ensure that the conditions are
constant.
Wipe clean and lubricate the cylinder.
Check the oil content of the
compressed air.
Replace piston seals and lubricate the
cylinder.
Check that the maximum permitted
lever length has not been exceeded.
Fit shims or washers on the screw
fittings between the load and the front
plate or cylinder.
