Safety information

WARNING!
Risk of injury if the operating instructions are
not observed!
These operating instructions contain important
information for the safe handling of the carrier
system. Special reference is made to possible
dangers. Failure to note these dangers could
result in injury or accident.
Ø Please thoroughly read the operating
instructions.
Ø Follow the safety instructions in this
operating instructions.
Ø Keep the operating instructions in an
accessible place.
Use of the carrier system is prohibited in the
following cases:
- If the carrier system is damaged.
- For unauthorised conversions or
modifications.
- For children or persons who are unable to
assess the risks involved in handling the
carrier system.
In the following cases, the manufacturer
assumes no liability or warranty for damage:
- Failure to observe the operating
instructions
- In the event of improper use.
- In the event of improper handling.
- When using spare parts that have not been
authorised by the manufacturer.
- In the event of unqualified repair of the
carrier system.

Proper use

The e.base carrier system is exclusively suitable
for mounting on the e.hit carrier system and
may only be used as a carrier system in
conjunction with the accessories listed below
( à paragraph 3.2).
The carrier system is suitable for use on paved
roads. Off-road use is not permitted.
The carrier system may only be used if it is
correctly installed and in a technically perfect
condition.
Proper use also includes observing the
information on the type plate and reading and
observing these operating instructions.
Any other use is considered contrary to the
intended purpose.
2.2

Safety instructions for use

In road traffic, the driver is responsible for the
safety of the vehicle and its load.
The country-specific laws on load securing take
precedence and must be observed at all times
(e.g. mandatory labelling with a warning sign).
The following values must be observed when
using the carrier system:
- Maximum carrying capacity of the carrier
system depending on the e.hit carrier
system of 111 kg/131 kg (including weight
of accessories attached to it).
- Vehicle's permissible axle load.
- Vehicle's permissible total weight.
