Transmitting Data
The Monitoring Codec has two P I/O systems and two
S I/O systems.
The P I/O systems consist of RELAY OUT port (8
channels) and CAMERA CONTROL port (12
channels).
The S I/O systems consist of a TABLET port and a
USER DATA port.
The illustration below describes the fundamental
concept of the I/O system.
Suppose that two ports, one on the local site, and one
on the remote site, are connected by a wire.

You can transmit data between a device connected to
the I/O port and the Monitoring Codec via ISDN or
V.35. For an example of transmitting data with the
USER DATA port, please see the following.
Connecting a Device to the
USER DATA Port
Connect the RS-232C port of the device and the USER
DATA port of the Monitoring Codec with the RS-
232C cable.
Use an appropriate RS-232C cable that complies with
the USER DATA port standards.
For details on pin assignment of the USER DATA port, see
"Pin Assignment" on page A-9 (GB).
