Troubleshooting

If the Monitoring Codec system does not function or functions incorrectly, check the following.
Symptom
The main menu is not
displayed.
No sound or little sound
Blurred image
No picture
Cannot connect to a
remote site.
Cause
The Monitoring Codec is not turned on.
The Remote Commander batteries are dead.
The Monitoring Codec and monitor are not
connected properly.
The monitor is not turned on.
The Monitoring Codec is in the standby mode.
Volume setting is too low.
Microphone, headset, or speaker are not
connected.
Out of focus.
Camera is not connected properly.
Camera iris is closed.
Camera number is not selected.
The picture is switched to a camera number
whose signal is not input in the camera tour.
The line is not connected.
The telephone number of the remote site is not
registered.
Remedy
Press the POWER switch. (page 1-6 (GB))
Replace the batteries. (page 1-6 (GB))
Check the connection. (pages 1-4 (GB), 1-5
(GB))
Turn on the monitor.
Press any key on the Monitoring Codec or
Remote Commander.
Adjust the volume in the AUDIO menu. (page 2-
11 (GB))
Connect microphone, headset or speaker.

Adjust the focus in CAM CTR in the main menu.
(page 3-5 (GB))
Adjust the camera focus.
Check the connection. (pages 1-4 (GB),1-5 (GB))
Adjust the iris in CAM CTR in the main menu.

Adjust the camera iris.
Select a camera number in CAM SEL in the
main menu. (page 3-5 (GB))
Set the camera tour properly. (page 2-9 (GB))
Check the ISDN line connection. (pages 1-4
(GB),1-5 (GB))
Register the telephone number in the DIAL LIST in
the TELEPHONE menu. (page 2-4 (GB))
