The medial (internal) and lateral
(external) degree settings must always
be the same.
The brace is fitted with a 0° extension
wedge. Other wedges are included with
the brace.
Select the required wedge (extension
wedges are marked with "Ext", flexion
wedges are marked with "Flex", the
relevant number of degrees is also
stated).
Place the wedge in the brace joint and
lock it with the screw.
Move the brace joints and check that the
wedges are securely in place and are
well-positioned.
Important Note:
Only change the extension and flexion
restrictions under the orders of the
doctor treating you. To avoid hyperex-
tension, extension wedges or 0° wedges
must always be used. The wedges set
the exact radius of movement for the
brace. If soft tissue conditions pose
issues, then it may be necessary to use a
larger wedge, due to soft tissue
compression, in order to limit movement
of the knee to the desired radius. Ensure
that the brace joints are in the correct
position: The middle of the brace joints
should be level with the top of the
kneecap. The brace joint must be behind
the lateral central line of the leg.
Care instructions
The brace cannot be worn in saltwater. If
the brace is worn in chlorinated water, it
should be rinsed out thoroughly with
clean water afterwards. Soap residues,
lotions and ointments can cause skin
irritation and material wear.
