16. WARNINGS ABOUT THE TOOLS
- Use an insert and take-up handle suitable for the type of
chain on which the rivets are to be spun.
- Do not force an insert into the bush. Do not use tools that
do not fit perfectly in place.
- Use exclusively clean and undamaged inserts and take-up
handles.
- Make sure the size of the insert and of the take-up handle
are identical.
17. CHECKING THE TOOLS
Visually make sure the insert and the take-up handle are not
chipped. Do not use them if they are!
18. TOOL ASSEMBLy (FIG.6)
- Insert the flat end of the insert U1 in the bush B1.
- Screw the corresponding take-up handle L1 into the hole
F2.
Make very sure the end of the insert fits into the
hole.
Use inserts and take-up handles that are identical
in size, checking the reference etched on the
actual tools.

19. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

- Make sure the electrical system power supply complies
with the values written on the rating nameplate.
- The power supply voltage must not differ from that written
on the nameplate by ±5%.
- The connection to the electric mains must be prepared
subject to current standards in force in the country in which
the machine is used.
- The power socket used for the machine must have an earth
wire, adequate fuse and must be protected by a differential
circuit breaker with tripping sensitivity no higher than 30
mA.
20. START-UP
- Plug the power cable into the mains.
21. RIVET SPINNING WARNINGS
- Wear personal protection equipment when
sharpening.
- All adjustments must be made with the motor
switched off and the rivet spinner completely stop-
ped.
- In the case of accidental impact or knocks against
the tools during the rivet spinning process, follow
the instructions given in the "WARNINGS ABOUT
THE TOOLS" section.
- Whenever you need to replace the tools, follow the instruc-
tions given in the "WARNINGS ABOUT THE TOOLS"
section.
- Before putting the chain in position, start the rivet spinner
and make sure the insert turns without oscillating.
- You are recommended to clean the chain before rivet
spinning it.

22. RIVET SPINNING THE CHAIN
- Manually assemble the two ends of the chain using the
appropriate connection links.
- Position the chain on the two chain guide discs G2 (fig.7).
The head of the rivet to be spun must face the take-up
handle L1.
- Adjust the position of the two chain guide discs G2, by
turning the winged screws V1 (fig.8), so that the rivet is at
the same height as the insert U1 and the take-up handle
L1,as illustrated in the detail.
- If necessary, run the chain over the chain guides (fig.9),
so that the rivet is perfectly aligned with the tools U1 and
L1 (as shown in the detail).
- Turn the take-up handle L1 so that the rivet sits against
the insert U1 (fig.9).
- Put a few drops of oil on the rivet (fig.10).
- Turn the machine on using switch I2 (fig.10).
- Leave the machine running for 3-4 seconds, before turning
the take-up handle L1.
- Turn the take-up handle progressively (without forcing it)
L1 (fig.10). The end of the rivet spun should appear the
same as that on the opposite side.
- Do not force the handle L1 excessively to avoid
touching and damaging the pulling links.
- Stop the machine, loosen the handle L1 and repeat the
spinning process for the second rivet of the connection
link.
- Upon completion, stop the machine and check the
chain.
Get hold of the links next to the connection link just spun
and make sure they turn freely on the rivets without any
axial play.
23. STOPPING AND SHUTTING DOWN
23.1 STOPPING
Turn the machine off by turning the switch to position "0" and
unplug the power cable from the mains.

23.2 SHUTTING DOWN

Once you have finished using the machine, disconnect it
and clean it thoroughly.
Store it in a dry and safe place, protected against dust and
damp.

23.3 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

Follow the instructions given in the "STOPPING"
section before you start to work on the machine.

23.4 HANDLING AND TRANSPORT

- If you need to transport the rivet spinner, take it off the
bench and put it in packaging that will protect it against
impact.
