Installation o� ex�aust temperature monitor (1)
1.
Drill an 8 mm diameter hole in the hose approx. 100 mm
below the lower edge of exhaust hose.
note: Drill the hole between the steel spirals on the hose.
2.
Remove the hose.
3.
Install the sensor body (2) in the hose using washer (3).
Install the other washer (3) and the nut (4). The groove in
the washer must face the hose. Tighten the nut well. In-
stall the exhaust hose and the hose clamps.
4.
Install the exhaust temperature monitor (1) in the thread-
ed hole in the sensor body and tighten well.

Connect the exhaust temperature monitor connector to
the cable trunk. Route the cable trunk in a suitable man-
ner. Avoid hotspots, e.g. the turbocharger and connecting
pipes. Use the strip clamps provided.
6.
Remove the brown / white cable from the coolant tem-
perature monitor and connect the brown / white cable
with the double cable shoe to the exhaust temperature
monitor. Then connect the previously disconnected brown
/ white cable to the double cable shoe. The monitor is con-
nected in parallel to the high coolant temperature alarm.

7a MD22, TMD22, TAMD22
Connect the ground cable with a thermostat housing re-
taining screw.
Locate the washer (6) at the bottom.
7b TAMD31, TAMD41, KAMD43
Connect the ground cable to the oil cooler. Position the
washer (6) at the bottom.
7c D1/D2 MDI
Remove the existing cable shoe to the AUX connection.
Install the cable shoe from the wiring (5) on the AUX con-
nection.
Connect the previously removed cable shoe to the extra
contact on the AUX connection.
Connect the ground cable to one of the MDI unit retaining
screws.

Connect the exhaust temperature monitor connector to
the cable trunk. Route the cable trunk in a suitable man-
ner. Avoid hotspots, e.g. the turbocharger and connecting
pipes. Use the strip clamps provided.
9.
Install the ring terminal on the alternator B- (remove the
locknut and install the ring terminal over the existing cable
shoe). Tighten the lock nut well.
10.
Attach a cable shoe (7) on a white cable (1.5mm2) with
a suitable insulator (8). Connect the cable shoe with the
insulator on the cable trunk (5) double cable shoe.
11.
Attach the white cable next to the existing cable trunk
from the engine to the instrument panel using a cable tie.
12.
Install the alarm panel (part #. 873609) in a suitably vis-
ible location with the other instruments. Refer to the alarm
panel installation instructions(pub. # 7736073).
13.
Attach a cable shoe (7) to the white cable with a suitable
insulator (8). Connect the white cable to the alarm panel
pin using the cable shoe.
14.
Check the installation. Make sure the cables do not pro-
trude or come into contact with moving parts.
