To light the stove use small blocks of wood (20-25 cm in
length, making up an amount of about 2 kg), positioned verti-
cally at the back of the fi rebox. Fully extract the control located
above the top (see Illustr. 2 Page 19).
Light the wood using a fi relighter and close the door. As soon
as the fl ames have died down and a good bed of embers has
been formed, load the fi rebox with a normal amount of wood
(do not exceed the maximum amount specifi ed in the table on
Page 21).
If the fi re is too intense we recommend partially closing the pri-
mary air valve (in manual mode) using the appropriate control
(see Illustr. 2 see Page 19) positioned parallel to the bottom of
the fi rebox.
The stove will operate differently depending on the draw in the
chimney and adjustment of the combustion air valve.
During the initial operating period it may take a little while
to fi nd the correct adjustment of the combustion air valve to
obtain the best operation from the stove.
It should be noted that if an insuffi cient amount or excessively
large pieces of wood are used to light the stove the combustion
chamber will not reach the optimum operating temperature,
resulting in poor combustion and the formation of an excessive
amount of smoke.
NOTE:
do not use alcohol, petrol, kerosene or other liquid fuels to light
the fi re.
Keep liquid fuels away from the fi re.
Do not use fi relighters made from petroleum or chemical sub-
stances: they may cause serious damage to the fi rebox walls.
Use eco-friendly fi relighters only.
Overloading (over 2,1 kg/h) or excessively lively fl ames may
damage the fi rebox compartment.
