6.2.3 Hollow shaft encoder

The fixing screw of the clamping ring must be tightened with a torque of 2.5 Nm. The torque pin must
be screwed onto an M4 threaded pin, and tightened with a torque of 3 Nm. The screw connection must
be secured against loosening.
The stator coupling is fastened with four M3 screws tightened with a torque of 1 Nm and secured
against loosening. When fastening the shaft, the user or the installation company that mounts the
encoder must make sure that the fastening method complies with the safety requirements in force.
Max. permissible tolerances for the shaft connection:
• Axial offset:
< +/- 0,25 mm [0.0098]
• Radial offset:
< +/- 0,20 mm [0.0079]
• Angular offset:
< 1°
When mounting, make sure that:
• the fastening arm is mounted in not prestressed condition on a M4 threaded rod with two M4 nuts.
fastening with the nuts is carried out in compliance with the directives in force.
• the M4 threaded rod is subjected to dynamic load in operation. Therefore, make sure to oversize the
fastening in the motor flange; the M4 threaded rod must be secured against loosening.
• the fastening arm shows no deformation.
• when shortening, the used slot of the fastening arm is not damaged.
• the offset between the axes is max. 0.1 mm radial and max. 1 mm axial.
In case of high efforts (e.g. high rotary speeds and reversing operation), the threaded rod can
suffer wear and must be inspected periodically. In this case, replacing the threaded rod / the
torque stop may become necessary.
