Installing maps on the unit
You can install new maps on the unit using the NVX-P1 Desktop.
If NVX-P1 Desktop is not yet installed to your computer, install it from the disc supplied with
NVX-P1. For details on how to install, see the manual supplied with NVX-P1.
Before starting, make sure that your computer has an Internet connection available.
Notes
• Old maps cannot be used with the new maps.
You must fi rst remove the old maps, before installing new maps.
• It may take approximately 4 hours to replace all maps (depending on your computer
performance).

Turn the unit on, then connect it to your computer with the USB
cable.

Run NVX-P1 Desktop and insert the supplied disc into your
computer.
If the unit software is not yet updated, the update wizard appears when you run NVX-P1
Desktop. Follow the on-screen instructions and update the unit software.

Remove all old maps from the unit.

Select the "NVX-P1" tab on the right side of the NVX-P1 Desktop screen.

Select all maps in the list.
Click the second item from the top (exclude the item "Speech Size"), then click the
bottom item while holding down the Shift key.

Select "Remove from NVX-P1."
Note
Be sure to remove maps from the list. If you try to remove maps from the map screen,
some may not be removed.

Select the maps to activate.

Click the desired areas on the map screen.

Follow the on-screen instructions to activate the maps of the selected areas.
– If you use a proxy server, enter its settings. If not, proceed without entering.
– Proceed without entering Application Product Key on the "Activate Software" screen.
Application Product Key
entry not required.

Register new maps on the supplied disc to NVX-P1 Desktop.
Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the registration.
– Enter the Map Product Key, which can be found in the enclosed "About the Map Product
Key," on the "Type Map Product Key" screen.
– If you use a proxy server, enter its settings. If not, proceed without entering.
