Function
2
Position
The interface interrogates the control unit every half of a second to know the position of the leaf.
When this datapoint is read, the last detected value is sent.
Each time the gate stops (the value detected by the control unit does not change for 2 seconds); the interface sends this datapoint
spontaneously on the bus.
If the gate has two leaves (NumOfMotors parameter set to 2), the value sent to the datapoint is the average of the position of the two
leaves; as in the case of the single leaf, 0 means that the gate is completely closed (both leaves at 0%) and 255 means that the gate is
fully open (both leaves at 100%).
3
Master Enable
It is possible to disable all the Knx gate activation commands via bus (datapoint START, PEDESTRIAN, OPEN and CLOSE); this
communication object is intended to create conditions in which the devices connected to the bus are or are not active.
When reset, all devices are active; upon the receipt of a telegram on this datapoint with a value of 0, the activation datapoints are
disabled. To re-enable them it is necessary to send a telegram with a value of 1.
6
Open/Close
When the interface receives this datapoint with a value of 0, it sends an Open command to the control unit; when the interface receives
this datapoint with a value of 1, it sends a Close command to the control unit.
Unlike the Start and Pedestrian commands, this command does not simulate the action on the terminal, but always commands the
opening or closing of the gate; however, not all V2 control units handle this command; check if your control unit handles the Open/Close
command before using this datapoint.
The dispatch of the open/close command to the control unit can be inhibited by the datapoint MASTER ENABLE (Master Enable); this
allows you to disable by bus the devices that activate the gate at certain times or under certain conditions.
8
Safety Device
It allows simulating by bus the intervention of a safety device: photocell, sensitive edge, stop button.
The type of safety feature that is simulated is set by using the VirtualSafety parameter.
The safety feature is enabled by sending a telegram with a value of 1 and disabled by sending a telegram with a value of 0. In order for
the control unit to respond to safety features simulated by bus, you must activate the ADI device recognition menu.
The datapoint SAFETY DEVICE is not in the list of available communication objects unless the VirtualSafety parameter is set to a non-zero
value; to connect the Safety Device datapoint, you must first indicate which device should be simulated.
9
Gate Not Closed
The interface sends the value 0 (Closed) if based on the reading of the position (see datapoint POSITION and the ApproxOnLimitSwitch
parameter) the gate is completely closed, and the value 1 (Open) otherwise.
The telegram is sent periodically, with the frequency set in the SendClosePeriod parameter.
It is also sent every time the value changes, so the gate begins to open or complete the closing.
10
Alarm
Some control units are able to recognize abnormal situations (movement of the gate not controlled by the control unit, passage on the
photocells with the gate closed..) that could raise concern of an attempt of unauthorized access. The control unit sends this information
on the ADI interface, which in turn inserts it into this datapoint, if enabled.
The interface sends this datapoint when the alarm situation arises or when it is stopped, or if a reading is made. In order for the control
unit to send the alarm information to the ADI interface, the ADI device recognition menu must be enabled.
