4.3 SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE MOTOR

Top up the fuel tank with petrol, but do not fill excessively. Refuelling must be done
safely in ventilated areas.
Avoid the inhalation of steams issued by the fuel tank.
Avoid spilling the fuel as the steams and spilled fuel are under certain conditions
highly inflammable.
Do not smoke while filling up the tank and avoid any presence of fire or sparks, even in
the place where the fuel is deposited.
In case of fuel spilling, clean the work zone and allow the dissipation of steams before
starting the motor up.
Do not place inflammable elements on the motor.
Avoid contact of fuel with your skin.
Do not allow the use of the motor without complying with the necessary safety
instructions.
Do not touch and do not allow others to touch the motor while it is still hot.
Do not allow children or domestic animals to approach the motor.
Maintain the fuel out of reach of children.
Never refuel the engine whilst the engine is ON and do not smoke. Refuelling must be made
safely into ventilated areas.

5. STARTING AND USING INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: Before starting the machine, read the instructions carefully and observe safety rules
recommended in this manual and labor safety standards of each location to avoid accidents, damage and injury.

5.1 WATER TANK

The joint cutter TRENCHER 60-70 incorporates two water tanks. A 40 liters rear water tank (A, Fig.3) and a
20 liters front water tank (B, Fig.3) for cooling the blades. The two tanks are connected to each other as if it were a
single tank, feeding the two blades at once. The maximum range is 60 liters in total and takes approximately 15
minutes to run out of water. Each tank has a water valve (A, Fig.4) to cut the flow of water.
If you want to cut only with a blade, you must shut off the water valve located opposite (A, Fig.5) to the cutting
blade.

5.2 FITTING THE BLADE

You will get better performance and better results using the blade always suitable for the material to be cut. The blade
used are water cooled, for which the joint cutters feature a cooling system that ensures the flow required to do so.
Blade Guards (P, Fig.6) are hinged on one end, allowing the assembly operations and changing blade quickly and
easily.
Proceed as follows:
• Bladesonnect the easy cooling connection (E, Fig.6).
• Loosen the nuts (A, Fig.6) of the guard to the chassis with a 17 mm wrench whichthe joint cutter has been
supplied. No need to remove the nuts completely.
• Fold the maximum guards on the screw that serves as the rotation axis (B, Fig.6)
