Commissioning

Preliminary checks
Make sure that:
hydronic system connections are correctly tightened
there are no leaks
the installation is bled; poor bleeding can cause
deterioration of pumps and electric heaters
the pumps are free and bled before power is switched on
the circuit valves are open and that the pumps are set to
the speed determined in the study
the filling and drain valves are closed
the water circuit pressure is 1 bar
the filter is installed
electrical connections are correctly tightened; poor
tightening can cause running problems and overheating
which can cause major damage

Network configuration

Network overview

All the devices in the system are connected by one bus
communication using the two wires connected to Rc and
Rh pins.
In that way, it's possible to connect the devices in every
point of the net.
Through the auto-configuration, a unique address, between
1 and 213, is assigned to all the devices connected,
following these addressing rules:
Device
Carrier fixed speed heat pump
30AWH heat pumps
Comfort Module board
(Master Board)
2 Zone kits/Pools boards
(Slave boards)
User interfaces
To define the system network connection, all User Interfaces
have to be associated to the relevant boards (master and
slaves). All slave boards can manage up to 2 different zones,
and therefore can be associated to 2 different interfaces
(one for each zone).

Start up
Be sure about all the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical
connections and don't switch ON the electric heater
breakers before to complete all the configuration and the
water filling.
Turn ON only the boards and the heat pump and start the
network configuration as described in this manual.
During the water filling, Par. 104 can be used to force the
water pump/s to run to discharge all the air in the system.
After all these operations, when the system is configured,
switch ON the breakers of the electrical Heaters too.
Pic. 13 shows an example of the network connections with
the relevant variable table parameters involved.
