Champion
Juicing
For juicing, use the fine screen (3) along with the
juice outlet unit. If you would like to have more
pulp in your juice, order the coarse screen (4)
from your Champion importer (see page 2). We
also recommend using the coarse screen for
juicing berries. Place a flat juice pitcher (order
no. 50141) or a bowl under the juice outlet to
catch the juice and a bowl under the front body
opening to catch the pulp. Instead of this, you
can also catch the pulp by fastening a plastic
bag to the body with a rubber band.
Quality of the Produce
You achieve the best results when you use
organically grown fresh, crisp, pre-chilled vege-
tables. A fresh carrot, for example, breaks into
two pieces if you try to bend it; an older one
bends.
The juice that you produce can never be better
than the food that you inserted into the juicer.
You cannot make especially good juice out of
woody, old, limp vegetables. In contrast, you
get deliciously refreshing juice out of crisp,
fresh, pre-chilled vegetables.
Preparing Vegetables
Clean the vegetables before juicing. Do not let
the appliance run when it is empty.
The Champion can produce any desired
amount of juice without interruption. To
achieve best results, insert pieces of food into
the funnel that are as big as possible.
Adding Food Correctly
Insert the vegetables continually. It is important
to push the plunger down for a few seconds
after every filling to avoid a back-up of the pulp
into the feeding chute. By pushing the plunger
down, you make the pulp come out at the front
of the appliance.
Overloading
If the Champion is overloaded, it makes a cli-
cking sound. Do not worry! It only means that
you added food too quickly or that you did not
push the plunger down long enough.

Juicer – The Classic Juicer
®
Clogging – immediate emptying
If the Champion clogs up during juicing, it can
be emptied quickly by inserting a large carrot
into the feeding chute and pushing down the
plunger with one hand. While doing so, apply
pressure with your other hand and push down
on the pointed end of the body.
Caution! Do not reach into the moving
cutter from the front!
Keep applying pressure until the body empties
itself and the cutter grinds on the body.
Pulp is too moist
The pulp from the first two or three juiced
pieces may be moister than usual. Run this
pulp through the juicer again to achieve the
maximal juice yield.
Pulp that is too moist can also result
from adding the food too quickly, from a
clogged screen, or from a cutter that is dull
from frequent use.
Switch the Champion off, remove the screen
(3/4), and clean it with a brush. Tap the screen
on the edge of a table: all bits will fall from
the screen. If necessary, order a new screen or
cutter (order no. 50941). Clean the screen and
cutter immediately following every use, making
it easy to keep it free from all residues.
Pulp from fruit is naturally moister than vege-
table pulp.
You must insert very juicy fruit and vegeta-
bles more slowly. This way, you will produce
drier pulp and more juice. If you want to get
the very last drop out, run the pulp through the
machine a second time: this is no problem for
the Champion.
Deposits and foam
Because of the high juice yield, there will be
some deposits in the juice. Some foam may
also be created by the extracting pressure in
the Champion. You can remove foam and
deposits by pouring the juice through the enc-
losed hand sieve.
