(7) Trimming and polishing
A narrow flame-shaped diamond with 80 µm grain size can be used for removal of coarse excess or coarse
contouring. The margins are trimmed with the finest finishing diamond 40 µm/8 µm and/or Proxoshape
files or flexible discs.
Finishing and polishing strips can be used for the proximal region. Use flexible discs for the incisal angle.
Use silicone rubber polishers (prepolishers and polishers or two-stage polishers) and brushes (e.g. Diatech).
Small brushes, which can be used without water, are suitable for final polishing. This ensures optimum high
gloss.
