6.2 Further instructions for use

Attaching loads (e.g. backpacks) can adversely affect stability. Suspending additional loads on the wheelchair
is not permitted.

6.3 Basic functions

6.3.1 Removing and mounting the seating unit

CAUTION
Incorrect mounting of the seating unit
Falling out of the user if the seating unit is not secured
► Secure the seating unit using the seat lock.
► When attaching the seating unit, make sure you hear it engage into the mobility base.
INFORMATION
► A brief general description of removing and mounting the seating unit is provided below.
→ For a device with a Kimba Neo seating unit: Please refer to the instructions for use for the Kimba Neo
for further information.
→ For a device with a custom seating shell or another seating system: Please contact the qualified
personnel who adapted, selected or fabricated the seating unit for further information.
The seating unit can be easily removed from the indoor mobility base for transferring the seating unit to a rehab
buggy. This is particularly important if the seating unit is used as an indoor device on an indoor mobility base and
as an outdoor device on an outdoor mobility base and therefore needs to be easily transferable.
Removing the seating unit (not illustrated)
1) Stand next to the seating unit and hold the back support with one hand.
2) Pull the handle of the release lever under the seat towards the foot support. The retaining claw will now release
the seat adapter.
3) Tilt the seat back by about 45° and then lift it out of the unit.
Mounting the seating unit (not illustrated)
1) Hold the seat by the back part and under the seat surface.
2) First place the locking unit under the seat surface at an angle of approx. 45° on the back tube of the seat
adapter.
3) Press the front edge of the seat onto the base frame until the retaining claw audibly engages on the front tube
of the seat adapter.
4) Give the seating unit a few short tugs to make sure it is secure.

6.3.2 Adjusting the seat height

CAUTION
Unintentional loosening of the seat height adjustment
Falling of the user due to incorrect adjustment
► Tighten the clamping levers after carrying out any adjustment of the seat.
1) Loosen the clamping levers (see fig. 6, item 1).
2) Loosen the set screws (see fig. 6, item 2).
3) Move the seat adapter to the desired height (height adjustment is restricted when the tripod spring engages,
see section "Assembly": see Page 20).
4) Close the clamping levers tightly. Tighten the set screws again.
INFORMATION: The clamping levers can be moved freely. Pull the clamping levers away from the set
screws slightly and turn them to a more convenient operating position.
