The required clearance F (distance to the ground or
another obstacle) below the attachment point (an-
chor point) of the shock-absorbing lanyard should
be at least:

Only a fall arrest harness may be used as the
body holding device in a fall arrest system.
Lanyards must not be placed across sharp edges!
Pendulum motions during falls must be avoided
by selecting a suitable anchor point.
This is how you attach the energy absorber to the
other components of your fall arrest system:
Use a connector (carabiner to EN 362) to connect
the energy absorber to a fall arrest eyelet (iden-
tified with letter A) of your full body harness (see
pics. 4-5 on page 10), and engage the other end
(lanyard: bungy, rope, or strap) into an anchor point
(to EN 795) using a connector (carabiner) that is
suited for the respective anchor point and conforms
to EN 362.
In this process, be sure to verify that the connec-
tors (carabiners to EN 362) have been closed and
secured properly and are not being exposed to any
unacceptable loads (e.g. transverse loads, loading
across edges,...) that may considerably reduce the
carabiner's breaking force.

The total length of a subsystem with an energy
absorber, including lanyards, terminations, and con-
nectors must not exceed 2 m.
Assuming the possible worst case fall scenario (140
kg of mass, fall factor 2), the clear height below the
user's feet must therefore be equal to the clearance
F (see Section 1) + the total length of the energy
absorber used (incl. lanyards and connectors).
When using an energy absorber with a twin (double-
legged) lanyard, one should always, if this is possi-
ble, engage both legs of the lanyard into the anchor
point (standing point). If only one leg of the lanyard
is connected to an anchor point, make sure that the
second (loose) leg is not connected to the full body
harness (pic. 9, page 10) (Possible bridging of the
installed energy absorber!)

Products marked with this symbol were tested
„according to the "Recommendation for Use -
CNB/P/11.074" across a steel edge having a radius
≥ 0.5 mm and an angle of 90°. Therefore, they are
suitable for horizontal use across such an edge.
In practical use, however, this test does not provide
surefire protection against damage or tearing on all
types of sharp edges (e.g., concrete, steel, sheet
metal, wood, ...), as characteristics differ from edge
to edge (e.g., through galvanization of steel compo-
nents or cast concrete edges, smaller angles than
90°, sharp burrs,... – (incomplete list!)).
Therefore, lanyards should always be protected
with suitable protective elements (edge protectors)
against damage caused by sharp edges, and/or an-
chor points should be chosen such that possible a
contact / fall over a sharp edge is avoided!
The anchor point must not be at a lower position
than the level of the user's footing.
The occurrence of slack in the rope and pendulum
movements must be avoided by choosing a suitable
anchor point (lateral distance from a fixed anchor
point: 1.5 m max., or use of an anchor device to
EN 795 C or D in compliance with the applicable
Manufacturer's Information documents).
Please note! In the event of falls over an edge,
there exists the risk of injuries caused by the user
striking a possible obstacle located underneath
(building structure, ...).
LIMITATIONS OF USE
Never carry out work with this product if, as a result
of your physical and mental condition,
your safety might be compromised in scenarios of
normal use or in emergencies!
It is not permitted to make any changes or amend-
ments that are not expressly described in this
manufacturer's information manual. Those may only
