CHANGING FROM ANALOGUE TO DIGITAL SERVOS
The receiver is preprogrammed at the factory to „Normal" mode
and is therefore suitable for normal analogue servos. Proceed as descri-
bed in the following to set an even faster pulse output on channels 1-6,
thus ensuring an even shorter response time for digital servos.
To set digital mode:
1. Switch off receiver after „Pairing".
2. Press and hold the Link/Mode button for about 2-3 seconds while swit-
ching on the receiver, the red LED flashes.
3. Release the Link/Mode button. The monitor LED lights green and red.
4. Switch off the receiver to adopt the values.
Follow the same procedure to change over from digital to analogue mode.
During changeover, the monitor LED flashes red and green to indicate
analogue mode while the button is pressed. The red LED lights after relea-
sing the button.
Note:
Channels 1-6 operate in digital mode, channels 7+8 always operate
in analogue mode. The analogue-digital changeover also affects the
S-BUS output, which is automatically processed by S-BUS and digi-
tal servos. Analogue mode must be selected if analogue servos are
to be operated at the S-BUS output via a PWM adapter. Otherwise
the higher frequency will be irreparably damaged the analogue ser-
vos! Double-check every new setting on your receiver! Make sure
there are no FASST transmitters switched on in the vicinity during
the changeover procedure.
S-BUS CHANNEL ALLOCATION
In contrast to standard servos, where the receiver has a single PWM pul-
se per servo channel, S-BUS systems no longer have classic individual
servo channel alloocations.
Information relating to how far and in which direction the servo is to run is
digitally coded, similar to the PCM system for transmitters.
The pulse telegram additionally contains the direction and travel of all 18
servo channels as well as the channel address.
Each servo is allocated a channel number and it selectes the channel
number as well as the travel and direction information from the pulse
telegram. It responds only to commands that contain the correct channel
number. This digital fi lter increases the servos' immunity to interference.
Servo addressing can be carried out with the PC-LINK program which
can be downloaded free of charge in the download section on the robbe
homepage.
With this program you can additionally program functions such as servo
mid-point adjustment, end-point adjustment, servo speed, start-off cha-
racteristics, etc. individually for each servo.
Note:
The USB adapter CIU-2 No. F1405 is required to program the servos
and allocate the channel number via a PC.
The handy SBC-1 Programmer No. F1696 which can also be used to allo-
cate channels to the S-BUS servos and S-BUS PWM adapters is recom-
mended on the fl ying fi eld.
A channel number can be allocated to the servos also via the receiver.
Proceed as follows to allocate a channel number:
1. Select mode A or mode B as described below.
2. Connect servo to the corresponding channel output (see table
S-BUS Channel Allocation)
3. Plug in servo jumper into „DATA" socket at the receiver.
4. Connect receiver battery and wait approx. 3 sec while the channel num-
ber
is stored in the servo.
5. Unplug receiver battery and servo jumper.
The servos can now be connected to the S-BUS output of the receiver via
the S-BUS hub or V-lead.
Check functions before starting up!
Two different modes can be set at the standard receiver output 1..8 (mode
A channel 1...8 or mode B channel 9...16).
Proceed as follows to set a mode:
1. Plug servo jumper into "DATA" socket at the receiver.

4. To change the mode, press and hold the „LINK" button for about 2
seconds. The red and green LEDs flash when changing the mode.
The LED flashes in the sequence of the newly set mode when the
„LINK" button is released.
5. Switch off receiver and unplug servo jumper.
CONNECTION TO S-BUS OUTPUT
Up to 18 (16 prop channels, 2 switching channels) of the new, program-
mable S-BUS servos can be connected in parallel directly to this output.
Digital addressing means the servo reacts only to information containing
the correct servo address.
Note:
When connecting servos to the S-BUS, the voltage is supplied via a cable,
thus involving higher voltage loss. It is recommended to use the HUB cable
(nodal point) to supply voltage to the S-BUS system.
To use the S-BUS output, connect corresponding S-BUS servos via the
R6108SB

Note: Individual S-BUS servos can also be connected directly.
