8. HYDRAULIC START-UP
Before starting the system up, please check that all
steps prior to installation, assembly and programming
have been properly followed, according this instruc-
tions, manual as well the regulations in force. To start
the system up, please follow the instructions below:
Do not charge the system with salt until the end of the
start-up. In order to prevent any air pressure on the
water softener and the pipes, please follow these ins-
tructions in order.
1. Keep the by-pass valve in the "by-pass" position.
2. Fully open two or more cold and trated taps loca-
ted after the water softener, in order to remove all the
air trapped inside the installation and check that there
are no water leaks. Close those faucets after some se-
conds. Add 10 cm's of water inside of the brine tank.
3. Slowly open the by-pass to allow the entrance of wa-
ter inside the system. Keep the by-pass partrially open.
The systems will start automatically a regeneration pro-
cess and the water level in the brine tank should start
to slowly descend. At this point, the inlet flow must be
rather low, since in this position water will come in from
the bottom of the bottle and move upwards to the dra-
in.
Note: If the system does not start the regeneration by
itself, a manual regeneration must be started, as indi-
cated in point 7.1.
4. When water starts flowing continuously through the
drain, fully open the water inlet of the system.
At this point, the bottle will be full of water and so hi-
gher flow will not produce any damage. Water going
out to the drain may be a bit yellowish or brown. This is
completely normal, since it is due to the preservatives
of the resin.
5. After a few minutes, you will notice an increase of
the water flow towards the drain. This means that the
system is in the washing position. Let the equipment fi-
nish the process. After a few minutes more, it will cut
the flow of water towards the drain and refill the brine
tank.
6. Leave the equipment in this position until water
stops flowing in. At this point, the water level should be
approx. 7-10 cm above the bottom of the tank.
7. When the softener start-up is finished the following
points need to be checked:
a)
Verify that treated water is completely softened.
b)
Adjust residual hardness (point 9) if requested
(point 2.7).
c)
Add solt to the brine table.
8. System is ready to operate.
ATTENTION: check the tightness of the brine line,
and make sure that there are no leaks and that the
refilling process has come to a halt.
ATTENTION: it is essential to check that the brine
suction is being carried out properly, since an in-
correct or insufficient suction will affect the equi-
pment performance and the quality of treated water.
ATTENTION: there is a danger of injury due to an
excess of weight. It is necessary that at least two
persons move and rise the salt bags. There is a
danger of back injuries and other body injuries.
9. BY-PASS AND MIXING
1. Services position: blue.
2. By-pass position: red.
3. Fully closed.
4. Fully open.
As mentioned in "Section 2.7", it is not recommended
to supply completely softeneed water to household su-
pplies.
In order to modify the residual hardness, slightly open
the regulating valve, as indicated in the images below.
Then measure the water hardness present on the out-
let of the system and check that fits within the desired
valves. Otherwise, adjust the regulator and check again.
ATTENTION: the hardness regulator is supplied in
the closed position, therefore, if the system is not
adjusted, it will supply fully softened water.
10. MAINTENANCE AND SANITATION
In order to guarantee the proper operation of the sys-
tem, the following verifications must be carried put as
frequenly as indicated:
