1.6) THE ANCHOR LINE (cable) – Bottom end AND TENSIONING SYSTEM:
Case 1: Installation of an EN353-1 system: Mobile personal protective equipment against falls from a height on a rigid anchor line: the
fabricated top end with a Stainless Steel thimble loop and Stainless Steel U Bolts fitted with a tensioner on the cable.
Form a loop with the thimble loop and the 2 cable clamps supplied with the tensioner.
The tensioner should be loosened off by about 50 mm on either side before installation to allow the cable to be tensioned afterwards.
Fit the tensioner to the bottom attachment using the pin and locking pin supplied with the tensioner,
Adjust the cable tension by screwing the tensioner up manually; do not apply excessive tension, tension in the line is OK when the red
washer turns freely.
Case 2: Installation of an EN353-2 system: Mobile personal protective equipment against falls from a height on a flexible anchor line:
the installation is fitted with a counterweight on the cable.
Thread the cable through the 2 plastic washers at the bottom attachment, form a loop with the thimble loop and the 2 cable clamps
supplied with the counterweight.
The loop formed should allow the counterweight to be attached using a connector or quick link. Caution! The counterweight must not
touch the ground!
CAUTION! After installation of the set, it is important to check the relative alignment of all the attachment points; readjust if necessary
and check the cable tension.
