Ø (I2)-Silencing: If the related FC500MFI input is activated, silenceable outputs
and the buzzer of the control panel are switched off. A new alarm shall resound
only the buzzer, not the outputs. If silenced from the Simplified control interfa-
ce, the system shall be unsilenceable only from it, not from the control panel or
from the repeaters. If silenced from any other point, the system shall be unsilen-
ceable also from the Simplified control interface.
Ø (I3)- Disable communicator : If the related FC500MFI input is activated, all the
system communicators shall be disabled. It shall be possible to enable communi-
cators again only from the Simplified control interface.
Ø (I4)- Test communicator: If the related FC500MFI input is activated, the commu-
nication actions programmed for control panel alarm shall be performed.
Ø (I5)- Activation unit OFF: if the related FC500MFI input is activated, the Activa-
tion unit shall be disabled via the dedicated MIO or QIO module. It shall not be
possible to disable the Activation unit in case of fire alarm. If the Activation
unit has been disabled from the control panel or from the repeaters, it shall not
be possible to enable it from the Simplified control interface and vice
+
The Activation unit will ensure that activation of fire-fighting devices will occur
only in the event of real danger. The connected solenoid valve will be activated
when the Module inputs detect alarm status for the programmed time
(EXTINGUISHMENT DELAY).
For input activation, voltage free and Normally Open (N.O.) contacts in standby sho-
uld be used.
+
The actions connected to I1, I2, I3, I4, and I5 inputs are only possible at level 2
(see FC500 control panel levels), for this reason the access to the device is per-
mitted only to authorized persons, for example protecting it with a key
+
A switch should be connected with inputs 2, 3 and 5 (which are sensitive to the le-
vel), a pushbutton key with the inputs 1 and 4 (which are sensitive to the trigger).
The switch remains in the position where it was placed, the pushbutton instead,
automatically put in the position of rest.
LEDs of the fire brigade panel may be connected to output terminals O1, O2, O3,
O4 and O5 in order to display the following information:
Ø (O1): Panel alarm status indication
Ø (O2): Disabled communicator
Ø (O3): Outputs silenced
Ø (O4): A transmission of communicator is successful
Ø (O5): Activation unit ON. This output shall be ON if the Activation unit is active
(i.e. if input 1 of the dedicated MIO or QIO module has been activated).
Ø (O6): Activation unit OFF. This output shall be ON if the aActivation unit has been
disabled (i.e. if input 3 of the dedicated MIO or QIO module has been
+
If the total current absorbed by the LEDs is lower than 200mA, it is possible to take
the power supply voltage directly from the "24V" terminal of the terminal block [5]

In the same fire protection system can be only one Simplified control interface.
n Remote inputs/outputs
For this operating mode (see also "Input/output programming" in the previous sec-
tion), the FC500MFI module may be installed at a maximum distance of 1 km (al-
ways use shielded cable). Use the I1, I2,and I3 input terminals to perform the
following procedures (see also Figure 2):
Ø (I1)-Reset
Ø (I2)-Silencing
Ø (I3) Day/Night - (Closed contact = NIGHT)
The inputs ARE ALL SUPERVISED: the maximum connection resistance is 10 Ohm.
For input activation, voltage free and Normally Open (N.O.) contacts should be
used, connecting a 3900 Ohm resistor in series to the latter and a 10 Kohm resistor
in parallel to the terminals, as shown in the following figure. If the input (I3) is activa-
ted (in any FC500MFI in the system, max 4), the control panel shall be in Night
mode. If it is in standby condition, the control panel shall be in Day mode until the
Night mode is requested by any other part (FC500MFI, repeater or control panel
user interface) in the system.
+
Note: in case of networked systems, the Day/Night mode of the master control
panel shall be set as specified above; that of the slave control panels shall be the
same, if they have the option "Network commands" set.
Recycling warning
You advises to dispose of used devices (control panels, detectors, sirens,
electronic accessories, etc.) with full respect towards the environment.
Methods which could be used includethe re-use of parts or of whole products
and the recycling of products, components and/or materials.

LEDs or RELAYS may be connected to the O1, O2, O3, O4, O5 and O6 output termi-
nals, and will be activated under the following conditions:
Ø (O1): Panel alarm status

Programming from the Control Panel
To program the FC500MFI module from the control panel, proceed as follows:
1. From the main menu, enter the programming screen by pressing button F1;
2. From the programming screen, select option number 5 (Network);
3. On the "Network" programming screen, confirm the "PANEL TYPE" (FC500MFI)
programming by pressing the ENTER button;
4. Select and activate one or more FC500MFI modules (up to 4); select a module
using the arrows
which module is currently selected), activate a module using the arrow
activated).
activate it using the arrow
