Except for pressure regulation, no other work must be done while the
system is operating (e.g. checking that the fittings are watertight, checking
the high pressure pipes, etc.)
Any malfunction found before or during work must be reported
immediately and verified by competent personnel.
Pressure must be zeroed and the pump switched off before any such
operations are carried out.
2.4 BEHAVIOURAL NORMS FOR USING THE GUNS
The operator should behave according to good sense and
responsibility, placing his/her safety, and that of others, before
everything else.
The operator must have personal protective gear, such as a hard hat with
protective eyeshade, rubber boots and waterproof clothes.
Appropriate clothes will protect effectively against sprays of water but not
against the direct impact of a jet of water which is why we recommend
following these few simple rules:
•
Organise yourselves in teams of two to provide reciprocal and
immediate assistance in the case of need and so you can take it in
turns when work is long and arduous.
•
No objects must be left in the working area that come within the
range of the high pressure jet because dangerous situations could be
created if such objects are accidentally hit by it.
•
Always aim the jet of water in the direction of the working area, also
during tests and checks.
•
The operator must pay attention to the trajectory of removed waste
and set up adequate barriers to protect whoever or whatever may be
exposed to such a jet.
•
When the operator is working he must not be disturbed for any
reason. Whoever has to enter the working area and who has
authorisation to do so, must wait until the operator finishes what
he/she is doing and only then may he/she make his presence known.
30
The high pressure system must not be started or pressurised unless all the
workers have been notified.
2.5 MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY
The high pressure system must be serviced by qualified personnel,
following the procedures and at the times indicated by the
Manufacturer.
Use suitable and specific tools to assemble and remove the various
components. Use always and only genuine spare parts to guarantee total
reliability and safety.
3 DESCRIPTION OF THE MACHINE
3.1 IDENTIFICATION
Each pump has a metal identification plate on which you will find: type,
serial number and the main operating data.
•
R.p.m.
•
Max. pressure
•
Max. flow rate
•
Power required
•
Type
•
Serial number
•
Oil type
•
Quantity of oil
For all subsequent requests for spare parts, assistance or information
about a pump, you must always state the type and its serial number.
