2.2.3 Load Contactor and Auxiliary Electronics

The electronics associated with the load contactor are supplied from the stabilised grid and control the
operation of the output contactor.
When the input grid is within the pre-established margins, the stabiliser subassembly regulates the
output voltage at 230 V. Once there is voltage in the stabiliser output, the timer in the electronics
associated with the load contactor starts to count. Moreover, the relay that indicates GRID OK is
activated.
When the timer stops, the load contactor closes, connecting the load to the stabilised grid. When the
load contactor closes, an alarm contact activates indicating that the load is connected.
Finally, the filter is connected to a stabilised grid, to which the loads are connected.
Moreover, it monitors the status of the system by means of 3 potential free contacts, which indicates the
following states:
GRID OK: This is a relay which, when activated, indicates that the grid is within margins. If the
grid is not within margins, the alarm relay is not activated.
LOAD CONNECTED: This is a relay which, when activated, indicates that the load is connected
to the stabilised grid. If the load is not connected, the alarm relay is not activated.
FILTER FAILURE: This is a relay, normally activated, that indicates that a filter is not active and
that the magnetothermal protection of the filters is down. Warning! This alarm is normally
energised in order to be able to generate an alarm even when the electronics are malfunctioning.
Always connect the NC contactor.
The control board contains the following operating elements:
OVERVOLTAGE Regulator:
By selecting the position of these bridges, the overvoltage limit is regulated at LEVEL1: 246V,
LEVEL2: 257V or LEVEL3: 276V
UNDERVOLTAGE Regulator:
By selecting the position of these bridges, the undervoltage limit is regulated at LEVEL1: 187V,
LEVEL2: 197V or LEVEL3: 209V (+/-2%)
Factory setup at 187V.
OVERVOLTAGE Inhibitor:
If this microswitch is closed (in the "ON" position), the load contactor will open provided that an
overvoltage condition is given. If left open, the overvoltage condition will not have an influence on
the status of the load contactor.
