Operating Manual 20/50kVA FIEM
The connection shall be made according to the following terminals diagram.
INCREMENTAL FILTER CONNECTIONS
Operate the switch or magnetothermal switch on the alternating current connecting board, close the
FIME automatic import switch and the stabiliser will be ready for operation.
With a multimeter, check that the "Output" voltage is correct: 230 V ± 2%.
The unit is not designed to withstand the energy generated as a result of the direct impact of lightning
strokes. For this reason, for installations exposed to this kind of atmospheric phenomenon, it is
recommended to install some kind of protective device against lightning before the 20/50kVA FIEM is
installed (gas dischargers, etc.).
WARNING:
Before connecting the FIEM, ensure that the lines that connect the input to the mains connection panel
are isolated. Make sure that the corresponding external switches are open and place the necessary
warning signs to avoid accidental operation.
Should the ground connection procedures not be followed adequately, there may be electrical
discharges, danger for personnel or the risk of fire.
Before start-up, make sure that the power of the FAP is higher than that required by the load connected
to it.

3.5 Maintenance

It is recommendable to check the connections once a year and to clean the Variacs every six months.
The Variac bushings must be changed every two years and the fans every four years. Use original
spares always.
