1. FirstLocatethehardwarepackage.Youwillfindfourlong
screwsforthebasetubing,alongwith4nutsandwashers.
Placetheheateronthebasetubingasshownonthefrontof
thismanualorinthepartsdiagram.Usethelongscrewsand
matchingfastenerstoattachthebasetothefueltank.
2. Inthehardwarepackageyouwillalsofindtwoshorter
washerheadedscrewsforattachingthehandletothetopof
theheater.UsingaPhillipsheadedscrewdriver,attachthe
handletothetopoftheheaterasshownonthefrontofthis
manualorinthepartsdiagram.
3. Finallyinstallthelowerheatshield.Theincludedheatshield
willbelocatedcenteredatthe6o'clockposition.Onlytwo
screwsareusedtoholdtheshieldinplace.Themiddlehole
isonlyforthelocatingpinthatreceivesnofastener.Simply
removethescrewsthatlineupwiththeholesontheheat
shieldwhenonthecenteringpin.Puttheheatshieldinto
placeandre-attachthescrews.
PREPARING FOR OPERATION
1. Checktheheaterforpossibleshippingdamage.Ifanyis
found,immediatelycontactthemanufacturerat
800-251-0001.
2. Followallofthe"Precautions".
3. Fillthefueltankwithcleankerosene.Inextremelycold
weather,condensationmaydevelopinthetankanditis
recommendedthatatablespoonofde-icerbeaddedfor
eachgallon(4liters)offuelinthetank.Whenfillingthe
heater,useatleast2gallons(8liters)offuel.Besureheater
islevelanddonotoverfill.Useafunnelorcanwithalong
fillspout.
IMPORTANT: Before filling fuel tank the first time or after
extended storage periods, drain the fuel tank of any
moisture or condensation.
4. Locateheateratasafedistancefromcombustiblematerials.
Refertothespecificationstableinthismanualfordistances.
HEATER START UP
1. Locatethepowerplugnearthecontrolsoftheheater.Using
aproperlysizedandgroundedextensioncordpluginthe
unit.
2. WhenpowerreachestheheatertheRedlightonthebackof
theheaterwillilluminate.
3. TurnthepowerswitchtotheONposition.TheLEDreadout
willshowtheapproximateroomtemperature.Whenyouturn
thethermostatknobclockwisetheLEDreadoutwillchange
toshowthesettemperature.Whenthatnumberishigher
thantheroomtemperaturetheheaterwillbeginissequence
ofoperation.
4. Oncetheheaterbeginstorunitwillcycleonandoffbased
onthethermostatsetting.Ifforanyreasonyourheaterdoes
notrunproperlyrefertotheDiagnosticandtroubleshooting
sectioninthismanualorcontactthemanufacturerwithone
ofthemethodslistedonthebackpageofthismanual.
HEATER SHUT DOWN
1. Toturnoffeitherturnthethermostatknobtoatemperature
lowerthantheroomtemperatureormovethepowerswitch
totheoffposition.Theseheatersareengineeredwithan

integrated3minutecoolingcycledesignedtoprolongthelife
ofinternalcomponentsandtoreducesurfacetemperatures
thattendtoincreaseshortlyaftershutdown.Pleaseallowthis
cycletocompletebeforeremovingpowerfromtheheater.
DAILY SCHEDULE
1. GENERAL.Makegeneralvisualinspectionofheaterforloose
ordamagedparts.Checknutsandboltstoinsureagainst
loosenesscausedbyvibrationorroughhandling.Damaged
partsshouldberepairedorreplacedbeforeusingheater
again.Checkheateroperationtobesureitisoperating
normally(See"Servicing"sectionfordescriptionofnormal
operation).
2. FILTERS.Dirtyfuelfilterswillcauseanimbalanceintheair-
fuelmixture.Thebestindicationthatthisconditionexists
isanincreaseinodorsordifficultygettingyourheaterto
ignite.Thisheatershouldneverbeoperatedwithoutthe
filterinplace.ContactMr.Heaterforreplacementparts
500 HOUR SCHEDULE
1. REMOVEDUST.Cleanheatertwiceaseason(moreoften
underdustyconditions).Removeaccumulateddustfromthe
burner,motorandfanbladeswithcompressedair.Wipearea
cleanwithacleandrycloth.Inspectareatoinsureallforeign
materialsareremoved,especiallyaroundtheburnerand
combustionarea.
2. CADCELL.Cleantheglassportionofthecadcellwithasoft
drycloth.
3. NOZZLE.Accumulationofdirtandcarbonfromthe
combustionprocesscaneventuallyfillupthepassagesin
thenozzle,resultinginreductionoffuelandairflow.Ifthis
occurs,replacethefuelnozzle.ContactMr.Heaterforservice
parts
4. FUELTANK.Cleantwiceaseason(duringfrequentlyused
periods,cleantwiceamonth).Drainandflushthefueltank
withcleanfueloil.
ANNUAL SCHEDULE
1. FUELFILTER.Removethefuelfilterfromfuellineanddirect
compressedairthroughthefilterintheoppositedirection
offuelflow.Safetyglassesshouldbewornwhenusing
compressedair.
2. FUELLINES.Ifthefuellinesareremovedduringcleaning,be
sureallconnectionsaretightbeforeoperatingunit.Ifanydry
rottingorcrackinginthelinesisobservedreplacewith1/4"
idfuellineorcontactMr.Heaterforserviceparts.
STORAGE
Storetheheaterinadrylocationfreefromfumesordust.
Attheendofeachheatingseason,cleantheheaterasdescribed
intheMAINTENANCEsection.Drainandflushthefueltankwith
cleanfuel.Themanufacturerrecommendscompletelyfillingthe
tankwithfuelforextendedstoragetominimizecondensation
insidethetank.
SERVICING
Ahazardousconditionmayresultifaheaterisusedthathasbeen
modifiedorisnotfunctioningproperly.
Whentheheaterisworkingnormally:

Theflameiscontainedwithintheheater.

Thereisnostrongdisagreeableodor,eyeburningorother
physicaldiscomfort.

Thereisnosmokeorsootinternalorexternaltotheheater.
