Fuel Filter

• The fuel filter prevents water and dust present in the
fuel tank entering into the carburetor. If the engine has
not been started a long time, the sediment container
shall need to be cleaned:
• Shut off engine in ambient temperature and close the
fuel stopcock (E).
• Remove the sediment container (F). Clean the inside
altogether with the filter (G).
• Let filter and container dry completely.
• Verify the washer (H) is in good condition and set back
in place the sediment container and fuel filter.
• The external fuel filter should be replaced according to
the maintenance program indicated on page 12.
Fuel Drain
• Set under the tank a dedicated container to receive
gasoline. Use a funnel to prevent fuel spills.
• Close the fuel stopcock.
• Before setting the filter back open the fuel stopcock to
drain the fuel tank empty. Once is drained set back the
filter and sediment container.
• Start the engine as indicated in page 9 to burn all
remaining fuel in the system.

Spark Plugs

• Before removing the spark plugs, clean the area around
the spark plug base to prevent dust and debris entering
the engine. Remove the spark plug cap. Unscrew the spark
plug with the wrench included with the generator.
• Clean carbon deposits from the spark plug electrodes
with spark plug cleanser or a wire brush.
• Replace spark plug with a similar one if worn, damaged
or reusing it is not reliable.
• Measure the gap between the two electrodes using a
spark plug gauge. The distance between the center and
side electrodes shall measure between 0.02" and 0.03"
• Double check the spark plug washer is in good
condition. Insert the spark plug manually to prevent
misalignment.
• After setting the spark plug adjust with a spark plug
wrench to press the washer.

tighten up to 1/8 – 1/4 turn after the spark plug is in place
and the washer can be compressed.

Storing and Transportation
• When moving the generator, turn off the motor switch
and close the fuel stopcock. Keep the generator leveled
to prevent fuel from spilling. Start the generator at leas
every 2 weeks. Leave it running at least 20 minutes.
• When storing the generator for long periods of time:
1. Drain completely all the fuel from the generator as
indicated in the previous item.
Then, start the motor until all fuel inside the motor is
burnt.
2. Replace oil as indicated in page 13.
3. Remove the spark plug and pour a spoonful of SAE -
10W /30 oil into the cylinder. Then set the spark plug.
• Clean the generator with a damp cloth and cover to
prevent dust entering and accumulating inside.
• Store the generator in a clean, dry place out of the
reach of children.
