TROUBLESHOOTING
Symptom
The device does not deliver any current
and the yellow thermal default light is
on.
The display is on but the device does not
deliver any current.
When starting up, the display indicates
for one second and turns off.
Unstable arc
The tungsten electrode oxidizes and tarni-
shes the end of the weld.
The electrode melts
WARRANTY
The warranty covers faulty workmanship for 2 years from the date of purchase (parts and labour).
The warranty does not cover:
• Transit damage.
• Normal wear of parts (eg. : cables, clamps, etc..).
• Damages due to misuse (power supply error, dropping of equipment, disassembling).
• Environment related failures (pollution, rust, dust).
In case of failure, return the unit to your distributor together with:
- The proof of purchase (receipt etc ...)
- A description of the fault reported
Any welding operation undertaken in.....
- rooms where there is an increased risk of electric shocks,
- Poorly ventilated rooms,
- In the presence of flammable or explosive material,
......should always be approved by a «responsible expert», and made in presence of
people trained to intervene in case of emergency.
Technical protection as described in the Technical Specification CEI/IEC 62081 must be
implemented.
Welding in raised positions is forbidden, except in case of safety platforms use.
Causes
Thermal protection is on.
The earth clamp or electrode
holder is not properly connected to
the unit.
The voltage is not included in the
range 230V +/- 15% for the TIG
200 L AC/DC or 85-265V for the
TIG 200 AC/DC
Failure of the tungsten electrode
Gas flow is too high
Unprotected welding zone
Failure of post-gas
Polarity error
Remedies
Wait for the end of the cooling
period, approx. 2mins. The light
will turn off.
Check the connections
Check the electrical installation.
Ensure the correct size of Elec-
trode is being used.
Use a well prepared tungsten
electrode
With weak currents, increase the
frequency
Reduce gas flow rate
Protect welding zone against air
flow (Post-gas) whilst cooling.
Increase duration of post-gas.
Check and tighten all gas connec-
tions
Check that the earth clamp is pro-
perly connected to +ve
Balance too significant, frequency
too low
