FIRST FILLING UP OF PIPELINES

Remove the protective plastic caps inside the pump fittings and proceed as follows:
1)
Put the switch on the burner in the "O" position.
This operation prevents the automatic connection of the burner and of the resistances which could burn if
operating with an empty tank.
2)
If the burner is three-phase, make sure that the motor rotates in an anti-clockwise direction, by observing the
burner from the pump side. This can be controlled by looking at the sense of rotation of the fan through the spy
hole situated on the back of the scroll. To start up the motor, close manually the relay (by pressing on the mobile
part) for a few seconds and watch the sense of rotation of the fan. If ir is necessary to change the sense of
rotation (three-phase motor), invert two phases of line input terminals (L1 - L2 - L3).
Note: Wait until the fan is moving very slowly before truing to ascertain the sense of direction; it is possible to
misinterpret it.
3)
Detach, if already attached, the flexible pipes from the suction and return pipelines.
4)
Dip the end of the flexible suction pipe in a tin containing either lubrification oil or fuel oil (do not use low viscosity
products such as light oil, crude oil, petrol, kerosene, etc.).
5)
Now press on the mobile part of the motor's relay in order to start up the motor and thereby the pump.
Wait until the pump has sucked in an amount of lubrificant equal to 1 or 2 glassfuls, then stop.
This operation will prevent the pump from operating dry and will increase the suction power.
Note: Pumps operating at 2800 r.p.m. must not work dry otherwise they will jam (seizure) within a short time.
6)
Now attach the flexible suction pipe to the suction pipeline and open any gate valves fitted in this pipeline.
7)
Press again on the mobile part of the motor's relay to start the pump which will suck fuel from the cistern.
When fuel is seen coming out of the riturn pipe (not yet connected), stop.
Note: If there is a difference in height or if the pipeline is very long, the priming process can be made easier by
removing from the pump manometer connection point plug and bleeding air through it during pump
operations. In this case, when fuel is seen coming out of the manometer connection point vent, stop the
priming process, replace the plug and continue with filling the tank until it is full, (the pre-heater tank is full
when fuel is seen coming out of the flexible return pipe, not yet connected).
8)
Connect the flexible return pipe to the pipeline and open any gate valves fitted on this pipeline.
The burner is now ready to start up.
