Safety warnings
Battery charger
Keep the charger out of rain and
■
do not expose it to moisture.
The risk of electric shock will be
increased if water is allowed to
penetrate the charger.
Do not charge rechargeable bat-
■
teries of other brands. The charg-
er is only suitable for charging the
Bosch 36 V / 4.0 Ah (li-ion) re-
chargeable tool battery in the
specified voltage range.
Otherwise there is a risk of fire
and explosion.
Keep the charger clean. Soiling may
■
present the risk of an electric shock.
Damaged chargers, cords and
■
plug will increase the risk of elec-
tric shock. Always check the
charger, power cord and plug
before use. Do not use the charg-
er if you notice any damage. Do
not open the charger yourself and
only have it repaired by a qualified
electrician who must only use
genuine replacement parts.
Do not operate the charger on
■
highly combustible surfaces (e.g.
paper, textiles etc.) or in combusti-
ble environments. There is a risk of
fire from the heat produced by the
charger while it is charging.
Rechargeable battery
Protect the rechargeable battery
■
and the tool from heat, moisture,
water, e.g. also from permanent
sunlight and fire. It could explode.
The rechargeable battery must
■
only be removed in the way
described in these instructions.
Do not open the tool or the re-
■
chargeable battery. This could
cause a short circuit. Please con-
tact your retailer if you encounter
any problems.
Do not touch any electrolyte fluid
■
that has escaped. Do not get
electrolyte fluid in your eyes. Im-
mediately move tool away from
naked flames or sources of heat.
Immediately remove contaminated
clothing.
If electrolyte does escape from
■
the battery, the following action
is necessary:
Contact with eyes: Immediately
rinse eyes with copious quantities
of clean water, such as tap water,
but do not rub. Seek medical atten-
tion. Failure to take the appropriate
action can result in loss of sight.
Contact with skin: Immediately
wash the areas affected with copi-
ous quantities of clean water, such
as tap water, or skin irritation may
occur. If the chemical penetrates
clothing, take off clothing immedi-
ately and wash the skin with water.
If irritation persists after washing,
seek medical attention.
Inhalation: If the rechargeable bat-
tery is damaged or used improperly,
vapours or electrolyte fluid may
escape. Provide fresh air and seek
medical attention if you feel unwell or

discomfort occurs. The vapours may
cause respiratory irritation.
The lithium-ion rechargeable bat-
■
tery can be recharged at any time
without shortening its lifespan. In-
terrupting the charge cycle will not
damage the rechargeable battery.
If the tool is not going to be
■
used for a prolonged period,
remove the rechargeable battery
from the tool. This will prolong
the life of the lithium-ion
rechargeable battery.
When not in use, keep the
■
rechargeable battery away from
paper clips, coins, keys, nails,
screws or other small metal
objects that could short-circuit
the contacts. Short-circuiting the
rechargeable battery contacts can
cause burns or fire.
Do not short-circuit the recharge-
■
able battery. It could explode.
Make sure the tool is switched
■
off before fitting the rechargeable
battery. Inserting a rechargeable
battery into a power tool that is
switched on can lead to acci-
dents.
Only charge rechargeable batter-
■
ies in chargers recommended by
the manufacturer. A charger suita-
ble for specific rechargeable bat-
teries presents a risk of fire if it is
used for charging other recharge-
able batteries. Only use recharge-
able batteries intended for use
in power tools. The use of other
rechargeable batteries can result
in injuries and the risk of fire.
Protect the rechargeable battery
■
from moisture and water. Charge
the rechargeable battery at a tem-
perature ranging from 0 °C to
45 °C. Do not, for example, leave
the rechargeable battery inside a
car during summer. From time to
time, clean the rechargeable bat-
tery's ventilation slots with a soft,
clean and dry paintbrush.
Transportation
The rechargeable battery con-
■
forms to UN manual ST/SG/AC.
10/11/Rev.3 Part III, sub-section
38.3. It is equipped with an effec-
tive means to prevent internal
pressure build-up and short circuit
as well as a means to preclude vi-
olent rupture and
dangerous reverse current flow. In
general, transportation is subject
to the dangerous-goods regula-
tions applied by the various carri-
ers (e.g. ADR, IMDG code, IATA,
DGR)
When not in use and for transpor-
■
tation remove the battery from
the device. For storage place the
battery in the slot provided.
Keep these safety warnings in a
safe place together with the tool.
