7. install, condition and flush filter cartridge
align the filter cartridge lug with the filter head and push
upwards into the head.
turn filter cartridge to the right until rotation stops (about
1/4 turn).
t. Place the drain line into a bucket.
u. Make sure the flush shut-off valve is in the CloSed position.
V. turn the cold line water pressure on, oPen the angle stop
valve to flow.
W. oPen the faucet and leave open. you will get no or very
little flow through the cartridge.
X. CloSe the angle stop valve.
y. oPen the flush shut-off valve. Water and air should forcibly
exit the system through the drain line and into the bucket.
Z. repeat steps V-y until steady flow exits the faucet (about
three to five times).
now that flow has been established, the filter cartridge can
be flushed. Flush for five minutes at full flow. Flushing will
remove carbon fines and trapped air.
notE: purging air from water lines with low pressure may
require several additional minutes of flushing.
notE: for fresher water it is recommended that you run
the tap at least 20 seconds prior to using water for
drinking or cooking purposes.
notE: initially, filtered water may appear cloudy. if you set a
glass of water on a level surface, you should be able to
watch the cloudiness disappear from the bottom of the
glass upwards. this harmless cloudiness results from
the release of trapped air within the filter cartridge
and will disappear within a few days after installation.
8. install decorative cover
installation is complete.
9. install Everpure by pentair filter timer
Pinch the bubble between thumb and forefinger. on 11 month
products this will be on the back of the indicator.
Squeeze the bubble firmly until the bubble collapses
completely. you will feel a change in resistance as the
timestrip® "pops".
Within a few seconds a thin red line will appear in the white
window showing that the timestrip® has been activated. this
may take up to 60 seconds for long-life products.
Peel away the backing paper and adhere to the required
location. (if the indication line does not appear, repeat Step1
squeezing more firmly on the bubble.)
Please note that timestrip® indicators are designed to be
used at prescribed temperatures. Please select your product
accordingly. the white timestrip® window will progressively
fill with red over time. When the white window is completely
filled with red, 11 months have passed and it is time to
replace or service your product.
