WARNING
Risk of physical harm
It is dangerous for anyone other than a qualified person to carry out maintenance or
repairs requiring the removal of a cover that protects from exposure to microwave
energy.
Refer to the instructions in the tables "Materials that you can use in a microwave
oven" and "Materials that you must not use in a microwave oven". Certain non-
metallic utensils should not be used in microwave ovens. In case of doubt, test the
utensil as described below.
To test a utensil:
1. Fill a microwave compatible container with 1 glass of cold water (250 ml) and
place the utensil to be tested there.
2. Operate the oven on full power for 1 minute.
3. Carefully touch the utensil to be tested. If this empty utensil is hot, you cannot use
it for microwave cooking.
4. Do not operate the appliance for periods longer than 1 minute.
Materials that you can use in a microwave oven
Utensils
Notes
Aluminium
Only for protection. Small pieces can be used to cover small bits
foil
of meat or poultry to prevent them from overcooking. An arc may
be produced if the aluminium foil is too close to the walls of the
internal compartment of the oven. The aluminium must be placed
at least 2.5 cm from the internal walls of the oven.
Browning dish Follow the manufacturer's instructions. The bottom of a browning
dish must be positioned at least 5 mm above the turntable.
Incorrect use may lead to the turntable breaking.
Crockery
Exclusively those that are microwave compatible. Follow the
manufacturer's instructions. Do not use cracked or chipped
utensils.
Glass jugs
Always remove the lid. Use them only to reheat food at
low temperatures. Most glass jugs are not resistant to high
temperatures and may break.
Glass utensils
Only thermo-resistant glass utensils designed to be used in ovens.
Check that they do not have any metal decoration.
Do not use cracked or chipped utensils.
