Monitoring Combustible Gases
The instrument can monitor the concentration of a variety of combustible
gases in ambient air. Which combustible gases are monitored depends on
the installed sensors.
The instrument displays the gas concentration in % LEL or % CH
Measuring page until another page is selected or the instrument is turned
OFF.
If an alarm activates while using the instrument, leave the area
immediately.
Remaining on site under such circumstances can cause serious personal
injury or death.
The instrument has two alarm setpoints:
HIGH Alarm
•
LOW Alarm
•
If the gas concentration reaches or exceeds the alarm setpoint, the
instrument:
backlight turns on
•
displays and flashes the alarm message either LOW alarm or the
•
HIGH alarm
enters an alarm state.
•
When gas reading exceeds 100% COMB or 5.00% CH
a Lockalarm
state can only be reset by turning the instrument OFF and ON.
A combustible gas reading of "XXX" indicates the atmosphere is above
100 % COMB or 5.00 %vol CH
away from the contaminated area immediately.
In such cases, the instrument LockAlarm feature activates.
