8. CODE kEYBOARD 16-612

8.1. Description
The code keyboard is a combination lock that is used to control 2 outputs. The module operates on
the base of a personal user code. Every programmed user code can operate 1 of the 2 outputs. The
module is programmed via the keyboard. It is secured by a master code that is only known by the
system administrator. In case of a power failure, the settings are not lost. The code keyboard can be
used in combination with other modules from the range Access Control Design. The module is built-in
into one of the external units of the range or is used as stand-alone code switch for controlling an
electric lock. In case of connection to the 16-651, the relay in the code keyboard and the relay in
the interface are activated when controlled.
8.2. Installation
First mount the modules that have to be placed on top of the code keyboard. Connect the flat cable
and mount the module in the external unit by means of the 4 supplied screws (see '2. Mounting
the modules').
In case of a connection without the interface (stand-alone), open the code keyboard by means of
the 4 Allen screws at the back of the module. Gently remove the plastic cover cap. There is some
adhesive between the cover cap and the module. This could cause you some difficulties in removing
the cover cap. If this is the case, use a small screwdriver. Remove jumpers J1 and J5 (fig.6), connect
the power supply to terminals 1 and 2 of connector J6 (fig.6). Then connect the dead relay contacts
REL1 and REL2 to lock 1 and lock 2 resp. Close the module.
