TC-40 Cutter
prior to cutting. Cold PVC pipe can shat-
ter during cutting.
6. With dry hands, insert a fully charged
battery pack into the handle of the TC-40
Cutter. Battery charge can be checked by
pressing the Battery Level Indicator
Button on the rear of the TC-40 Cutter.

7. If needed, mark the pipe at the point to be
cut. Wipe any dirt or debris from the area
to be cut. This will help to extend blade
life. Cutting close to the pipe end (less
than one pipe diameter) may cause crook-
ed cuts, pipe deformation or breakage.
8. If desired, turn the TC-40 Cutter Work
Light on. The work light helps illuminate
the cut area and is controlled by the Work
Light Switch

9. Grip the TC-40 Cutter in one hand and in
the other hand, grip the pipe to be cut at
least 6 inches (15cm) from the cut loca-
tion. Keep hands away from the blade.
Do not cut short sections of pipe less
than one pipe diameter.
10. Place the pipe squarely in the pipe cradle
with the blade aligned with the cut loca-
tion. The pipe should press the pipe indi-
cator switch. Do not try to make a cut in a
section of pipe less than 8" (20cm) long.

11. Press the FORWARD Switch
cut is complete. The cutter will make a
clicking sound at the end of travel. Re-
lease the FORWARD switch.
12. Fully retract the blade. This can be done
by either
• Pressing the Reverse Switch
• Pressing the Blade Release Button

13. When the TC-40 Cutter is not in use, al-
ways leave the blade in the closed posi-
tion. If the blade is open, press the Blade
Release Switch and then push the blunt
back edge of the blade to the fully closed
position. Do not try to close the blade
under power by pressing the pipe indica-
tor switch.
