TC-40 Cutter
2. If needed, press the Blade Release
Button
to fully retract the blade.
3. Clean any dirt, oil or other contamina-
tion from the cutter, battery pack and
charger to aid in inspection and to help
prevent the cutter from slipping from your
grip in use.
4. Inspect the cutter, battery pack and
charger for any broken, worn, missing,
mis-aligned or binding parts or any condi-
tion which may prevent safe and normal
operation.
• Confirm that the forward and reverse
switch moves freely and does not bind
or stick.
• Confirm that the pipe indicator switch
moves freely and does not stick or bind.
The indicator should extend approxi-
mately

dle and should be flush to the pipe cra-
dle when depressed. Make sure no de-
bris that could jam the pipe indicator
switch is present.

• Inspect the tool and battery pack for
presence and readability of the warning
labels (see Figures 5 & 6 for locations
of the labels).
• Inspect blade for damage. See Mainten-
ance Instructions.

If any problems are found, do not use the
equipment until the problems have been
corrected.

Set up Battery Charger according to
these procedures to reduce the risk of in-
jury from electric shock, fire and other
causes, and prevent tool damage.
The battery pack is delivered with a partial
charge. Fully charge the battery pack before
use. New battery packs reach their full capac-
ity after approximately five charge/discharge
cycles.

free hand away from the blade, depress
the FORWARD Switch to confirm that
the tool does not operate. With an ap-
propriate piece of pipe, make a test cut to
confirm proper operation per the operation
instructions.
