14. Slide 3-pin cable of inner fitting through slot of outer fitting. Do not pull the cable (figure 3).
15. Connect 3-pin cable of inner fitting to 3-pin cable of outer fitting. It can only be inserted in one direction. Do
not pull the cables; instead, carefully snap plug connection into place.
16. The 2-pin cable of the outer fitting can hang freely, but must not be crushed when the outer cover is
assembled. Do not pull the cable.
17. Press outer and inner fitting together such that they are both flush with the door.
18. From inside of door, slide fixing screw through snap-in mechanism and tighten by hand (approx. 5 – 7 Nm)
(figure 4).
19. Make sure that the outer handle can move freely, otherwise this may cause a problem with the lock or an
assembly error. If in doubt, remove components and start again from point 7.
20. Slide inner handle onto fastener of fitting as far as the stop.
21. Tighten socket head screw of inner fitting by hand, such that it ends flush with the handle.
22. Slide cover over inner handle such that it is flush with the door (cover is not symmetrical, please note the
marking, figure 5).
23. Slide cover guard over handle and carefully click it into the cover.
24. Slide cover over outer handle such that it is flush with the door (cover is not symmetrical, please note the
marking, figure 5).
25. Slide guard of outer cover over the handle and carefully click it into the cover
Smart Handle Wp aSSembly.
1. Optional: remove handles / collars / fittings etc. fitted to the door.
2. Optional: fasten mortise lock in door
3. The SmartHandle is supplied in a partly assembled state. For disassembly, please refer to the "Disassembly –
SnapIn" section and perform steps 7-11.
4. Turn to move the handle on the outer fitting into the appropriate horizontal position for a DIN left or DIN right
door. Ensure that the adapter is secure, such that the handle is fixed (see figure, the picture is intended as an
example only):
a.
Move the handle into the appropriate horizontal position
b.
Fit the adapter in the outer fitting. Slide it as far as possible into the corresponding recess. The
projection must always be facing downwards in the 6 o'clock position.
c.
Secure the adapter with a circlip using circlip pliers
5. Optional: if you are using a SmartHandle for British Oval mortise locks, slide the adapter provided onto the
SnapIn mechanism of the inner fitting.
6. Optional: for a lock with an 8.5 mm or 10 mm square, slide the appropriate sleeve (8 mm -> 8.5 mm or 8 mm
-> 10 mm) from the inside through the latch opening of the mortise lock.
7.
Optional: with fire-retardant doors (9 mm square) care must be taken to ensure that the profile cylinder cover
supplied is slid onto the SnapIn mechanism for the inner fitting.
8. Slide the cable on the outer fitting from the outside through the Euro profile cylinder/Swiss Round/British
Oval opening of the mortise lock.
9. Then slide the inner fitting through the door by simultaneously sliding the square through the latch holder
and the SnapIn mechanism through the Euro profile cylinder/Swiss Round/British Oval opening of the
mortise lock such that it is flush with the door. Please ensure that the cable is not crushed or bent in the
process.
10. Slide the latch of the outer handle onto the square of the inner fitting and at the same time slide the SnapIn
mechanism of the outer fitting into the SnapIn of the inner fitting such that this is also flush with the door.
11. Press the outer and inner fittings together such that they are both flush with the door.
12. Make sure that the outer handle can move freely. If this is not the case, it may indicate a problem with the
lock or an assembly error. If in doubt, remove the components and start again from step 7.
13. From the inside of the door, slide the fixing screw through the SnapIn mechanism and tighten finger-tight
(approx. 5 – 7 Nm) (see figure).
14. Connect the 2-pin cable of the outer fitting to the 2-pin cable of the inner fitting. It can only be inserted in
one direction. Do not pull the cables; instead, carefully snap the plug connection into place.
15. The other 2-pin cable of the inner fitting can hang freely but must not be crushed or bent during assembly.
Please do not pull on the cable. It serves as the connection for the optional WaveNet board.
16. Slide the inner handle onto the square as far as stop.
17. Tighten the socket head screw of the inner handle finger-tight (approx. 5 – 7 Nm).
18. Slide the cover over the inner handle such that it is flush with the door (the cover is not symmetrical, please
note the marking, figure 5).
